I have eaten at Rustic Eatery a few times for lunch. I ordered the Ribeye Shabu Cut bowl, with sweet soy sauce, every time. The bowl comes with meat, lots of rice, and cooked vegetables. The food is freshly prepared, the ingredients taste of quality, and service is rapid. I really enjoyed the sweet-salty flavor of the sweet soy sauce with the tender cuts of Ribeye. The Ribeye and sweet soy sauce blended nicely with the rice, and the vegetables served to balance out the palate. For a few dollars more than comparable establishments, customers can obtain a superior meal in terms of quality.

For all intents and purposes people should just consider this location closed. I visited during my lunch break and wanted to order a sandwich to go. I attempted calling earlier to place my order but no one answered. I was across the street for business so came over to order in person. Upon entering the restaurant there was only one person working there and he was tucked away in a corner, at a table covered in paperwork, and eating his own lunch. He informed me that the restaurant was closed and would be reopening at 5 o'clock. It was 1:30 when I got there so that means that he was closed during lunchtime and wasn't gonna be open for an additional 3 1/2 hours. While I understand the COVID-19 situation has caused a lot of problems, it doesn't look like this one individual was at all prepared to make food for anyone. There's nothing on the storefront window stating new hours, different hours, how they're handlinghandling COVID-19, and he doesn't answer phone calls if you wish to place an order in advance. For anyone attempting to order food or pick up food from this location I wish you the best of luck but I feel that this place is circling the drain and unfortunately the food and service reflect that.

Quality has gone down. Rice was crunchy and extremely undercooked. Everything else was ok but definitely not a rice bowl.

Unfortunately, the place has gone DOWN hill. I use to eat here at least once a week... Rumor is new owners have taken over and all the original employees are no longer there! Now, they rarely answer the phone to order ahead. When I have gone in, only 1 guy is working and doing everything (supposedly one of the owners). Orders take FOREVER and the quality and taste is NOT the same. I decided to give them 1 more chance last week. I called ahead and he answered! Asked him if he could have my order (spicy salmon salad, no onion) ready in 20 minutes. He said 20-25 minutes. I said 25 mintues would be ok, but I will be on my lunch and don't have a lot of time. Mentioned to him last time I ordered it took way too long for my lunch time. I showed up about 30 minutes later, expecting my lunch to be waiting for me. It wasn't. The owner was sitting down on the phone. I advised I called ahead and told him spicy salmon salad, no onion. The salmon was still on the grill and the salad was not even made! It took him about another 5 minutes to throw it all together. I got back to work and my salad HAD onions. There was not any silverware/napkin or bread/butter in the paper bag as usual. The yummy lemon oil dressing had been in the fridge, so it was coagulated and thick.So sad and sorry I won't be eating here again. And I use to recommend this to place to everyone!

Their hours are sporadic. Came for lunch, was told they are only open for dinner. Came for dinner and they are closed. No signs posted for hours on the door and the open sign is still light up. Shame

Stopped by because I was starving! Ordered the tofu bowl over the phone 30 minutes before showing up... the food wasn't ready when I got there... waited for a few minutes... took my order... got to my car to realize they gave me the wrong order... walks back to restaurant the for my food... tofu was spiceless... it was blend and there was a piece of cotton cloth on my food ... ordered fries too... wayyy too salty... couldn't finish my meal Im still starving now have to to somewhere else ‍

Great prices, healthy food and options, great tasting meat and marinades. You can't go wrong here!!! Love this place and I always come here for lunch because it's close to my work!

I'm really sad. I used to like this place and go often for lunch as it is close to my work. I recently went back, it was my first time back since the pandemic started and things have really gone downhill. I know every restaurant is struggling now. But I can't imagine eating here again if the service and the food are going to be this poor. I don't like their bowls but their sandwiches are pretty good usually. I got the tri tip sandwich with salad. The person taking the order didn't say anything about how I should come to pick up the order (come inside to pick up? Call before I come? Will they bring it out?) he didn't even say the total cost of the order at the end of the call. He said it would take 20 mins! I was already committed so I drove over 20 mins later and when I walk in he is just barely putting his mask on, it looks like he wasn't doing much of anything and looks around saying it's gonna be another 5 mins. Then as I stand outside waiting, he comes out and asks what kind of cheese I wanted, which I had already stated when originally placing the order. Evidence that he had not prepared the order at all. As I open the bag to eat I notice there are no utensils or napkins. The sandwich was not cut in half like it always is, there is no tomato like it normally has and the bread which is suppose to be the best part is kinda subpar. The salad is kinda wilted and a smaller amount than before, there are no grapes in it like usual, no onions and the dressing was incredibly sour. Basically everything I liked about this place is no longer. There are so few good restaurants around here already and it will be sad if they do not make it through this and do better.

I hate to give a bad report to a mom and pop location, especially in light of the devastating effects of Covid-19 and curfews. Tonight might just be an anomaly, I hope so. We have eaten at this location numerous times and never had issues with the food or the service. It is close to Magic Mountain and a great option if you want to avoid a meal of burgers or chicken fingers. This recent visit, I stopped by at approximately 6pm. No one was in the location except for one staff member. He was pleasant and greeted me upon opening the door. So I had planned on purchasing a bowl and two sandwiches. I was told they don't have vegetables, so not to order a bowl or plate as they have the roasted veggies. So I ordered a naked salmon salad, a naked tri tip sandwich, and a spicy shabu ribeye sandwich. The spicy shabu was in place of the pork tenderloin, which I was told they were also out of. I ordered a large order of fries to go with the meal. I was told it would take 20 minutes and that was fine. No receipt either! The machine was empty and he claimed he would print it on the way out. In 20 minutes or less, the food was ready to go, the staffer placed the containers in a bag and handed me the bag. I asked if this was everything as there was another brown bag on the pass area where normally one would pick up the order. I was told everything was in my bag. I take him at his word and get to my car. Open the bag, no french fries. I walked back to the front and find both doors locked. I shook both doors and nothing. I called the phone number, no answer. Sign says they were open to 9pm and curfew was not until 9pm. So not sure where the guy went. Was the food good? Sure. But customer service was not the best. I'll try again and check the bag before leaving. Hate to have to do it.

The grubby staff is always...ALWAYS smoking cigarettes and drinking beer out the back door blowing smoke into my kids lungs every time we go through the Starbucks drive-thru. Have spoken to the Rustic manager who doesn't give a crap. Rustic is a filthy health risk. Steer clear.

Working in the area for many years now I've been searching for new places to try out. The food & reviews seemed mostly great so I decided to stop by at noon on a Wednesday (open hours are 11:00am - 9:00pm - this is even posted on the sign at their door). Pulled up to the restaurant, noticed no one was around, and tried to open the door. It was locked and I noticed someone was inside but they either didn't know I was there or just ignored me. I sat down at the table outside and gave them a call to ask what was going on. The person on the line told me "oh sorry... we had a gas leak and we just got it fixed. We should be ready in an hour." I thought okay, sure - that's plausible and went on to get my lunch elsewhere since I couldn't afford to wait an hour on my lunch break. I did leave questioning why they wouldn't have placed a sign or anything on the door, though. The next day, Thursday, I decide to try to give this place a chance again. I arrive at 11:45am - again within their advertised open hours. I notice 2 men hanging outside seemingly having fun & laughing by one of the tables and so I become eager, thinking they're customers so it means the place is open. Again I foolishly walk up to the door that has NO indication that they are closed and pull the handle with no success. It's locked again. One of the men tells me, "oh hey sorry.. we're actually having electricity problems right now so we're closed." Two days in a row they have different critical issues with the store that result in them being unable to open? It's unlikely, but sure, it's plausible. What isn't left to chance, however, is the fact that these employees (or owners, who knows?) are so inattentive and uncaring that they don't notice or even anticipate potential customers walking up to the door, expecting the restaurant to be open when it's not. They're so unprofessional that they don't even decide to put a simple of paper with writing on the door that says "SORRY - CLOSED DUE TO _____." Come at your own risk of your time. Maybe they'll be open. Maybe they won't. Good luck.

You can't go wrong with the food here. I got the chicken sandwich with the spicy sauce and it was made perfect. Do not expect your food to be delivered to you right away as it is made to order so you know you are getting fresh food. The service is great as we were helped right away. The line did get pretty big but they were fast to move it. We were acknowledged and helped tight away.
