The prices are high but $8 for "onion" rings that are exactly like fake ones you get at Burger King is outrageous. Why can't Betty make real onion rings? With actual onion inside. The outside batter tasted bad and odd too. Inside "onion" is just mush. They should be ashamed to serve and sell fake onion rings in a burger place. I've had fast food ones like at Dairy Queen that are million times better. I believe they use and sell bagged frozen ones which means they make a HUGE $ profit. It's always a treat to get real onion rings and I assumed they would have quality ones. To me, this makes me wonder where else they cut corners on actual quality of food. I've always liked their burgers. The Basic Betty burger is good but basic. Veggies are fresh and chilled. Really good fries. I hadn't visited them in a while so stopped into the Aptos location for lunch. My wife had the Basic Betty with cheese. I had the fried chicken sandwich. We shared a regular order of fries. 2 sodas. The bill, with tax and a 10% tip was $48. I was a little stunned. The prices are out of line, imo. While eating, the counter girl came to our table and said they forgot to charge me for the slice of cheese. Say what!! $1. Turns out they forgot the cheese anyways. Whatever. I'm not likely to return there. 50 bucks is nuts for what you get. Too bad.

Divey place which is exactly what you want in an old fashioned burger joint. Burgers were pretty good, and that's a compliment from a self professed burger snob. So far this is the best old fashioned burger in the Santa Cruz/Capitola area. Service was great. Plenty of seating.

I only EVEN gave 2 stars for the servers. To eat at a place where you spend $40 on a SIDE of fries, a basic betty, which was BEYOND basic, and a bbq burger with no BBQ was crazy! DON't claim to have a "lube sauce" when you won't put it on the burgers people! We opened our top bun and you couldn't even convince me there was a slab on mayo on that thing. The onions and lettuce were sliding off, the burger patty wasn't any better than In n Out, so i'm confused how they get business?! Very terrible experience. There is absolutely confidently NOTHING special about this facility, and it's expensive as h*ll.
