“04.18.24 Service was great, the young ladies working there were friendly and helpful, thank you to them! Location, interior/exterior, decor, seating, lighting were all 5+ stars, such a nice large, laid back environment to sit and work on your computer or for chat/get together w.friends.Now the bad; the hot Americanos were terrible. Tasted watered down, had a slight salty aftertaste. Thankfully did not buy a bag of beans from them. For amazing coffee we like Black Oak Coffee in Ukiah or Peet's in Scott's Valley. Avoid Starbucks as their beans (except for Blonde) is too bitter & acrid.“
“Excellent coffee quality and espresso quality. Skip verve and come here. This little coffee cart has the best coffee in Santa Cruz. I don't even touch on the quality of the drinks.... They're damn good too. Excellent cappuccino texture.“
“Years ago I learned about Alta when The Buttery Bakery made them their house brew. It was uncommonly good for coffee shop/bakery coffee. (Sadly, the Buttery changed to another roaster.)Their Ethiopian Natural is very good. This is my daily cup. Bright, full bodied, hints of berry set this medium roast apart. The coffee is quality. They still sell a 16oz pound. The people are nice. It's next to the Saturday Farmers Market, on the West Side, so it is very easy, too.“
“Justin refurbished a 1980s Elektra Micro Casa for my home. It’s a unique and fun to use lever machine that gets lots of compliments! Justin is friendly and has a wealth of knowledge to share about coffee and machines, including tips for how to brew a better espresso shot. Thanks, Justin!“
“As I sit here drinking my morning cup of Bob, I thought to myself it's time for this review! Last week I didnt have time to go over and see the wonderful guys over at Java Bobs so I was stuck drinking cups of joe.. but yesterday I was finally able to get over there and got my usual 3 lbs of Hawaiian Hazelnut.. and let me tell you.. I think I had a moment of bliss just from the aroma of Bobs.. and then as I take my first sip.. I sighed in aww of how amazing this coffee really is.. anytime I make someone coffee they always comment on how wonderful it is.. the guys that work there are always so amazing and quick too! Do yourself a favor and check this place out!“

“Cool coffeeshop in downtown Santa Cruz. Great spot surrounded by shops and restaurants. Decent hardwood on metal seating, not comfy for long stays, but typical café decor for today. A few nooks to tuck away into to read, write or chat, but you may have to find a spot as it's typically a fairly popular place to do so. Deliciously flavored coffees!! Their syrups are always unique, seasonal and super tasty! Definitely recommend trying one. One of my fav coffeeshops for downtown SC :)Parking: Can be difficult at times to find parking. It's all paid parking unless you're willing to walk from one of the nearby neighborhoods and, even there, it's difficult to find a spot. Plan ahead and buffer you're time if you're going when it's busy.“
“A staple of the west side of Santa Cruz. The coffee is pretty strong, be warned, but delicious. The iced mocha with whip is my go to treat, and their avocado toast with an egg is in my opinion, the most solid brunch/breakfast option in town. There's a nice outdoor seating area (benches) which is great for two people but probably not the best for a larger group. The service is always friendly and it's just a pleasant spot. I often sit here but taking to go is good too, during COVID I ordered the online pick-up option frequently which is convenient. For some reason, downtown Verve (on Pacific) is no longer good, but this one stays solid, and is part of the vibrant Fair Ave area.“
“My husband and I walked here today, I came yesterday. Coffee was great again today, totally different crew today and consistent drink and super friendly service. Yesterday coffee was great and I bought a cup to take home that I brought back today and had my coffee put in for my walk back. Service yesterday was friendly but today even friendlier. I don't love coffee but I really like their coffee and glad it's walking distance from our vacation rental.“
“Eddie acknowledges you from the jump when you walk into his shop. There's a smile, a twinkle in his eye, and typically, a fun comment that makes you laugh and think, "how far gone is he?"And he is gone... he's gone deep into his passion which is both humbling and inspiring. He's taken an idea and Morphe(d)(us) his love of coffee into an amazing place to enjoy coffee and hang.He takes his craft very serious, but he's lighthearted as to not to come off pretentious, and if you listen closely, he's serving up kernels of truth alongside the best coffee in town. The only cons lie in the name, Coffee Conspiracy. which is a testament to resilience, creativity, and a sprinkle of wonkiness that makes you feel grateful not everyone has succumbed to corporate greed.“
