Their tamales are absolutely delicious and a decent price. Moist and savory, lots of meat inside. The green chicken tamales are especially good. Service was fast, employees speak both Spanish and English. Lots of Mexican snacks and ingredients as well typically harder to find in Santa Cruz. Easy going environment.

It was ok. Tamales are good but messy. When I make them, the sauce is not all over it. Also has a lot of masa. I like masa but it's pretty thick. They're a little pricey too. Also they don't have the sweet bread I know by "piggies".

So good to have a panadería in Capitola/santa cruz. Pan dulce was great and reasonably priced.

Ive been coming here for a few years now. The tamales have always been so good, even if the staff can be a little unfriendly at times. Today the salsa verde tamale I ordered barely had any chicken on it. It's been hit or miss lately. Im not sure if I will return this time.

Second time we have an awful experience with the older female staff, from getting attitude to being accused of stealing a toy just because my son was holding it while we were making our way to the register!

I have been coming here for decade or more. I was raised in Mexico and I adore and lust for Mexican food. I speak fluent Spanish and so I go in and have fun with the workers. Many stores shun me as I am pure hippy looking; kinda never left the 60's. But when I start talking in Spanish in a Mexican accent almost always they ask if I am Mexican and I say no I am Filipina, any reservation about my looks melts away as I like to have fun and make people laugh. Always friendly to me. I tell them I am bringing the food to Gavachos, to show them how, it is done right. I have not bought the pan dulce as I try to stay away from too much sugar. But it all looks real good, they have Mexican candies. But I come down from Boulder Creek to buy at least 100 bucks of Tamales and freeze them. They are very lovely. I like the red, and green chicken ones. I also like the dulce sugar ones, they are a delicate taste but enjoyable for a change of pace. This last xmas, I bought 70 Tamales for neighbors who earned a reward by not being jack asses. All were pleased and loved the tamales. I only have one tiny complaint, the Green ones for a while have been pretty dry, but even with that I still buy them because it is still tasty; but not as juicy as the red ones. I especially loved that at one point they had tRump penatas I believe that is where I saw them. That made me roar with laugh, bash tRump to pieces works for me. And I point it out to them and say how clever is that? And we talk politics. I do that so they will know that not every Amerikkkan is racist and that I support them, when they were under attack by you know who. They were super grateful I am a friend and understand the threat they are under. Parking is ample. Looks clean. Tamales make great gifts as you eat it and it makes you feel good, and many times you get gifts that are hmmm and cant wait to get rid of the item; and its local shop; you cannot fail with good food. I also asked them to make business cards so I can get them more buys. My dad was a super sales person and word of mouth is better then any ad. Next time I will treat myself to some sugar treats and they have so many types, they go all out. Never encountered the male who seems to need a attitude adjustment. But If I do I can level him with some street slang in Spanish that would shock him and make him blush and settle him up to behave. Kinda looking forward to that so he can think before he acts. He need our business. He does not have to kiss culo/ass and if he hates whites, fine, but try to keep that for private life and family, meanwhile try to do poker face or fake being happy that we come because they have one of the best Tamales and nice fat ones. So a attitude tune up is in order. Lets see if I can tune him up.

Ordered tamales and bounce houses a few times. Never any issues. Christmas eve i noticed a voicemail from the day before I missed from them saying they needed my credit card number to refund my order for 50 tamales since i cancelled the order. Almost lost my mind since i did not cancel my order and had already paid them $200 two weeks prior for 4 dozen tamales and had 50 people coming to my house in an hour and my husband was already on the way to get the order. Had to call a couple times to get a resolution and a lot of back and forth and being told they didn’t have any order for me. Luckily they did have my food and got a cancellation mixed up with mine but i needed a blood pressure monitor after that.

Awesome. Una mas, por favor! I have stopped here twice in the past 3 months, and i live closer to SF, just to get the pollo chile verde tamales. So good that I devour one in the car before I can make it home or to the beach.

Me e

BEST tamales from a store, hands down. They're made with love and not overly packed with masa. By far the best I've had in Santa

I've been ordering tamales from different places in Santa Cruz/Watsonville area to see who I want to order from for Christmas tamales. El Rosal bakery won by a landslide! Bigger, moister, more flavorful, and way more filling than the other places. All of their tamales are great but the pork in red sauce is simply outstanding...best I've ever had.

So every time my parents go to Santa Cruz they bring back Tamales ! Especially during the holidays I have always told my parents what’s the name of this place, but they would forget haha! This time they went and they told me, but dammmm they have the best tamales ever so dam delicious the chicken pork and corn are just so good I can never get over them. I myself have yet to go in person to see what they have inside but I’m pretty sure there is more yummy options in there definitely recommend this place :)

Yummy bread - dude I haven't been able to find adequate bread pudding or "piedras" in YEARS and then I moved to SC and came to this bakery and boooooom perfect bread.Their tamales taste like mom's tamales. It's great, I regret only getting two but now I know that I can come back!
