A an amazing spiritual place next to Monterey bay. Chill out after 11am Mass and listen to the ocean 100 yards away.The garden used to be more spectacular in the past but still is nice.Book store has reasonable prices along with the drinks.

Shrine is one of my favorite things about Santa Cruz. It’s clean and comfy, the coffee and service are good, and you can walk to Steamer’s or around the gardens with your coffee.

ok... ummmmm I wasn't expecting this little coffee house to serve the yummmmiest iced tea I've EVER had!?? I'm glad they did and we've already planned our next visit tomorrow! :D I got the summer fog- one sip and I was HOOKED. I think it was an iced black tea with earl grey foam(?) More cafes need to add something like this to their menu! Or maybe I need to be more adventurous when I order?? My bf ordered an our frother! lol I appreciate their creativity! It was a steamed milk drink with cinnamon and honey (?) also yummy but mine was yummier!

Great location, parking and atmosphere. While this is part of the church it does not present as extremely religious and comfortable for all to enjoy. Both the inside and the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The only downside is they continue to give me a to go order instead of glass to dine in and a bit of inconsistency in the drinks amongst staff.

Shrine coffee might offer the best ocean views along the entire California coast. What a joy it was to find this spot. Located in the Shrine of Saint Joseph Church. Shrine Coffee has a great selection of hot & cold drinks as well as heavenly pastries....yes, I did. Thank you Shrine Coffee! See you soon.

Absolutely perfect location right on west cliff drive. My friend and I were going to grab coffee and go for a walk but it started to rain so we decided to stay and enjoy our coffee inside. We sat at a beautiful wooden table that is more of a communal style. It was very sticky and unsettling. Every time I picked my arm up it was sort of stuck to the table. The bathroom is very dirty with an overflowing trash can. The cleanliness of this place could use some work. I ordered a seasonal drink- the eggnog latte. It was very good without too much sweet artificial taste. The cost was $14.42 after tax for two lattes. The way they broke down the cost was they charged the standard cost of a latte, which is $4.50 and then they added a dollar for the eggnog flavor. Overall, this coffee shop is in a dope location and the vibes are so chill.
