Would not get again! Bought 2 monster corn dogs . Cost was $20.74. Corn dogs were huge. But after biting in to them there was so much breading. Not worth it at all !!!!

This was our spot to stop for food today since we came too late to buy a clam chowder judging kit! I guess next year we'll know better and come much earlier! Wall to wall people on the boardwalk today what with all the clam chowder fans! We got an order of fried artichoke hearts, fried zucchini, a corn dog, a clam chowder in a bread bowl, and a large Modelo beer. We shared everything 3 ways, and it was plenty of food, and reasonably priced compared to others. My favorite were the artichokes and zucchini ...both great with the ranch dip. Loved the beer (of course lol). I would not get the corn dog again, I just did not like that much, nor the soup because it's just too bready and not enough soup. But overall I'd come here again.

They are an all time favorite at the Santa Cruz beach boardwalk. Every time we visit the beach, we end up snacking something or the other here. Usually crowded on weekends, but that shows their popularity more than anything else. Service is fast and polite after you order ahead the counter. Our favorites include : - French fried artichoke. Unique snack and so tasty. Not many places make this with artichoke. Comes with a nice ranch dip - Fried Zucchini- another favorite -Vegetarian corn dog: a full meal by itself - garlic fries: another crispy and outstanding snack We will visit every time we come to Santa Cruz. Huge fans

I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger, and it was good. The fries were also good. Pricing is a little steep for the combo, and it doesn't come with a drink. I guess that's pretty standard for this area. I was disappointed in the Texas Donut. The taste was good, but it was pretty dry inside. It also needed more glaze on the outside. My boyfriend got the Cajun Corn Dog, and he seemed to like it. There is indoor seating available. I would eat here again.

All good - we came to the Boardwalk and got hungry! Lucky for us they had corn dogs and fries - we ordered and they were carnival style, fresh dipped. Kids were happy and we were back to the fun in no time.

the zucchini were double fried in old oil, same as the garlic fries, the hamburger meat was cold, the quality of the food was very poor, definitely a place I would not eat again

40 minutes for fried artichoke hearts. had everyone else waiting too. the employees inside either didn't want to work or didn't care enough to make anyones orderes. it was 8pm on a monday night and they had everyone waiting. could have ridden 2 or 3 rides in that time! no apology or anything. everyone was really confused.

We decided to get a quick lunch and Surf City Grill made it easy to order. The size of the corn dog was huge! And you can tell it's made fresh. The order came with regular fries but had to try out the garlic fries, and they didn't disappoint. The wait was not long and we were able to continue our day on the boardwalk. Great choice!

Corn dog and decent fries, quickly served.

Fast, decent food on the boardwalk. Corndogs, fried artichokes, giant donuts, burgers, beer, lemonade, clam chowder bread bowls, and fries. We wanted to just eat a bunch of little bites and this was a perfect spot for us. Sadly, I really wanted to try a corndog but we got too full eating at other stands like this to make it back here. Unlike some of the other food options they do have an inside space to sit and eat at. Interior is very nice and looks all original, there is a nice 70s aesthetic that feels nostalgic and optimistic, the walls are adorned with posters about the first Miss America pageants held on the boardwalk. Cheeseburger and fries: whole family split this, the burger was OK and we liked how the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and pickles came on the side so you can add whatever you wanted. The patty was slightly under-seasoned but after a terrible burger at Oakland Zoo I was happy it was warm and the cheese was melted. Fries: Tasty and fresh, comes in a cup for easy carrying if you want to walk and eat.

Do not order the turkey deli sandwich. It is pre-made, which is not what I was expecting from a grill. I thought I was ordering a fresh deli sandwich. Had to wait 15-20+ minutes. Pre-packed, cheese was soggy, and lettuce wilted. I have had better deli sandwiches from a gas station convenience store. Definitely not worth $10. Save your money, order a grilled item or go to another food vendor. The chicken nugget combo and corn dog were worth the purchase. Real chicken nuggets, not ground/processed chicken, large portion, enough to share.

Pathetic experience at the Surf City Grill. They took our order and provided us a buzzer that would vibrate once the order was ready. We were told that the order would be ready within 10-15 minutes. We stood patiently outside, staring at the buzzer, while groups that ordered way later than us received their food, ate it and left. 30 minutes later, we asked when we would receive our food, we were told "Just 2 minutes". 10 minutes later, we were again told "Just 2 minutes". Then one of the ladies said "Garlic fries take time", while serving folks who placed their orders 5 minutes ago, plates and plates of garlic fries. We got tired of their stalling and waiting, and finally left with a refund.I understand they were probably short staffed or busy, but at least don't lie to your customers!

This place had good reviews that are not true. Corn dog might as well be mystery meat. For some reason the corn dog had juice which is gross and makes no sense.

Went for something simple on the boardwalk. Not a bad place. Reasonable prices with simple food. Liked the garlic fries and the Hot Link Corndog. Didn't particularly "wow" me but something decent to eat while spending the day at the boardwalk. Gets all the nostalgic juices flowing when ordering from their stand and I guess that's what makes them a decent place.
