The food was delicious especially the shrimp tacos ! So bomb. We DoorDash so the service was great. I would like to say the Birria did have more than enough cinnamon or something in it. I prefer it less but to each their own

Let me preach for yall one sec..., I am a first generation Mexican American so I've been eating Mexican food for the 20 years that I have been alive. I grew up in the East Side of the 408(San Jose) where damn near everyone is Mexican and there is Mexican food at every corner of every street, so I have tried hundreds maybe even thousands of Mexican spots. When I tell y'all this the best quesadilla I have ever had in my life it means something. The quesadilla de maíz (corn) with tripas felt right at home. It touched my Mexican soul like no other. The tortilla was handmade and you could tell because of the flavor of the masa and the texture. The cheese was so rich and flavorful. The tripas were so perfect. Please for the gringos reading this don't be scared TRY tripas. This quesadilla genuinely, GENUINELY made my ancestors proud.

Excellent Quesabirria tacos at a reasonable price!! Pairs well with Santa Cruz Brewing beers a few steps away (and allows outside food).

Delicious tacos! We spontaneously tried this taco truck while looking for something to eat after checking out the monarch butterflies in Santa Cruz. The line to order our food moved quickly but the wait time to receive our food afterwards was a bit long on this busy day (Black Friday). Tacos were worth the wait though! There is no place to sit so we sat at the long bar table from one of the nearby breweries that was empty and no one had a problem with it. I'm grateful for that because this would've been very risky to eat in the car without spilling. I ordered a single queso birria taco and a single camaron taco, and my partner ordered 2 carnitas tacos, which he modified by adding cheese and avocado, and a side of beans & rice. We both got Mexican cokes too. Our order came out to $34 after tax and tip, which in my experience is middle of the road pricing compared to other taco spots. My tacos were absolute flavor bombs! So delicious, with the perfect ratio of all ingredients. If you are sensitive to salt, you won't like these. But I like salty food so it was fine with me. My partner enjoyed his tacos too, but his rice & beans never came out by the time we finished our tacos. They were still cooking so he asked for another taco instead and they gave it to him, no problem. Overall awesome tacos, would definitely recommend and would eat here again if I'm in the area.

Super greasy! We got regular carne asada tacos and they were drenched in oil. Will definitely pass next time.

T acos were made quickly & a good price. They also tasted pretty good, I'd say 7.5/10. We ordered a side of beans & rice too, which took over 30 minutes to get. The beans were super bland & the rice was undercooked. I give it a 4/10 since the portion was alright. Overall a solid 7/10.

I ordered them to-go on Doordash and it was actually so good! usually food from delivery is soggy but theirs was kept nicely and it smelled so. good. I had their birria tacos and my friend had their birria ramen, 10/10.

I'm an out of towner who comes to Santa Cruz on occasion for work. Every time I'm here I stop at Tacos El Chuy for the quesabirria with consome. Tonight I lucked out and got off early, beating the crowds to my favorite dinner spot. Normally there's a line 6 or seven people deep, and they end up waiting 15 to 20 minutes to get my food and the staff is always friendly, and explains everything on the menu. Tonight I decided to try the birria ramen, based on their recommendations (and a Tiktok video I saw). The soup was hot and flavorful.. I definitely enjoyed it, although probably not as much as I would've enjoyed my regular quesabirria. If you're in this area, cruising the microbreweries, I definitely suggest this place.

During our journey, we came across this food truck and decided to stop for a snack because we were famished. We ate the tacos in the car and thought they were delicious. The Asada and papi chulo that I ordered were both wonderful. While my friends ate chicken fajitas, veggie burritos, quesadillas, and burritos with vegetables. Additionally, we ate nachos, which I do not advise. Simply said, I didn't enjoy the flavor. It was worth the money to finish this taco truck.

Delicious quesabirria tacos, some of the best I've ever had. We stopped in per my friend's recommendation, finding them nestled in a parking lot surrounded by breweries and small shops. Immediate negative for me- no seating, and not really any accesible seating nearby unless you sit at another business. I ordered the quesabirria taco plate, which came with three tacos and consomé. There was no one else there, so my order was the only ticket up. Despite this, it took over 10 minutes to receive my order, I thought it would've come quicker. They have a few salsa options- I loved the tomatillo. They also had precut limes, but most were dried up and looked dirty, I had to dig to the bottom for ones that looked fresher. Regardless, the tacos were delicious. Great flavor, and good amounts of meat and cheese. The consomé was delicious, and had a nice spice to it. I thought the prices were very reasonable, so I'll be back to try again!

They were next to Santa Cruz Brewing Company and we decided to try them. Their quesabirria tacos are one of the best we have ever had. The meat is cooked to perfection and are accompanied by a very tasty consommé. They are a little spicy thou! We also had a carne asada taco with avocado and was delicious. We liked the fact that they serve it with only one tortilla.

I was in town for the day and saw them on Instagram. Nothing but negative experiences with them. 1. They were not at the location their schedule said they would be. I saw a few people looking for them. 2. They were almost 1.5 hours late according to schedule. I texted, and they gave me a new time, and they were 30 minutes later than even that. 3. Birria wasn't anything special. Not very flavorful. It tasted good with the consome though. 4. They seem very proud being woman owned/run. But it's a man doing the scheduling, taking phone calls, and orders. Definitely not worth waiting around so long for.

Went to the truck outside of Santa Cruz mountain brewing at the swift street courtyard on the west side. Food was prepared quickly and was super delicious. The guy taking my order was also the one who made it (maybe the owner?) and was very nice. The burrito with Al pastor had big chunks of avocado which I loved and the salsa on the side was yummy. There was nice outdoor seating near 11th hour coffee which I enjoyed. Will be back :)

Update on my previous 1 star review:Only visit the truck that has the picture of the guy on the side. The food truck with the jalapeño on the side is significantly worse. If you visit the right truck, then you might end up having some of the best mexican food you've ever had. Service is quick, and they have plenty of sauces to choose from. They also choose a good location to park as it is a well lit parking lot. The ambiance is a parking lot, but there's a good amount of people around (even at night), which makes you feel safe while waiting for food.
