It's basically the McDonald's of sushi. It's good in a pinch and goes down just fine. However, it leaves you feeling guilty or regretful for what you've just done once you've finished.

Toya sushi was delicious, service is quick, and meals are affordable. We regularly enjoy boba and sushi/ teriyaki chicken combos from here.

FIX THE SPAM MUSUBIThis is not how it's supposed to be. Nobody wants an inch of uncooked spam in their mouth. It's supposed to be thin, glazed with soy sauce/ect, and the size of a normal sushi. Other than that, everything else was good. Perhaps the chef that day was new or something.

I love their sushi and boba (this place is what made me realize I even liked boba!) Their honey boba is always fresh and soft/chewy. For sushi their takara and nutty shrimp rolls are bomb and reasonably priced. The special rolls are good, but not always worth it for the $$. Nigiri and a la cart sashimi is surprisingly great here. Don't judge to casual/to-go nature! They got a good fish supplier

I'm sorry but I am not going to order here again. I ordered the Spicy Mayo Tuna Roll and the Spicy Garlic Edamame but they were honestly the worst sushi and edamame I've had before. I'm not a picky eater but the quality of the fish was rank (it tasted old and not fresh at all) and the sauce tasted very plain. You definitely get your money's worth for the amount of edamame they serve at least, but it's was just eh for me. I'm just most bothered by the fact that the roll and edamame together were $30--and I wasn't able to finish it all because it left a bad taste in my mouth.

This place is bomber. Don't let bad reviews from hangry people deceive you. Especially the one from the guy complaining about them using paper straws for the bobba, I mean come on this is Santa Cruz we shouldn't have any plastic straws. Anyway, secret tip you can buy a gang of fried chicken cheap. The sushi is good and yea things are getting more expense here and everywhere so I can't hate on them for it. Eat your heart out at this roadside sushi spot that got my family thru covid. Chicken teriyaki bowl is also ginormous and delicious. Haters gonna hate.

Absolutely amazing service and food. I've never had better Japanese food, and the employees are always the kindest souls ever. 10/10 would recommend.. except they can never spell my name right on the boxes, haha.

High priced sushi for mediocre flavor. 2 tables and no indoor seating. Just not worth it.

No idea how this place is so highly rated. Sushi taste similar to something like safeway sushi but 3 times as expensive. Staff is nice enough, but that definitely doesn't make it worth it when there's so many other sushi places around.
