We ordered delivery from Upper Crust during a weekend visit. Overall we were very happy with the food. We ordered two Sicilian style pizzas, a plain pasta and a Nutella desert pizza.

There is lots of pizza, but they use way too much dough. It's very thick, hence all of the toppings are tasteless. Not good.

We've given this place enough chances. Always disappointed. 1) Ingredients are bland - reminiscent of those that comes prepackaged. We live near the farms so expect better there. 2) The dough lacks salt. 3) Over-priced especially for the quality.I wanted to like this pizza especially since it's such a Santa Cruz staple. We're better off at Round Table (a chain) at least they don't compromise on quality ingredients. The only positive is that they don't skimp on ingredients.

This place has got some pretty awful employees! I never even made it into the restaurant, because I was being harassed from the moment I drove up. I was changing my grandson from his beach clothes to clean clothes before going inside, and an extremely rude young male employee came out accusing me of smoking. I do not smoke so it threw me off, but I assured him there was nobody smoking. Not even 2 minutes later he came out to say it again, while all I was doing was putting on a 3 year olds shoes. My husband went inside to ask for a manager, and some sassy disrespectful young female employee said we weren't welcome to eat there. We had no intentions on eating there after being harassed by their employees regardless. You would think with a restaurant empty of customers, they would have been happy to accommodate the seven of us who were trying to eat there. I will never go back again and I will tell everyone I know to avoid the experience that I had to endure. This place needs some new employees before they scare anymore customers away.

Rude staff yelled at me for changing my grandson in the parking lot. When I asked to speak to the manager the owner approached me claiming I need to clothe my child. He is three and sandy from the beach. Never will I give this place a penny

Only on a walk. Stopped in with a good friend while on a walk. We were talking about how nice a beer would be...and just happened upon the place. All we had was a beer. After...I had to get a key for the outside restrooms that was attached to a heavy approximate 7" x 7" what appeared to be a metal basket.I had a Pacifico and my friend had a local amber from the tap and the beer was good.

Okay this is one of the best meals we had in Santa Cruz this trip. Everyone was in the mood for Italian and we wanted something that wouldn't break the bank. It's very unassuming from the outside but oh my gosh was it good! We had the muffaletta, both kinds, and it was delicious. Very big portion so get it to share if you're ordering anything else. A couple of us had the lasagna which was also fantastic and a large portion. It's a house made sauce and you could tell. My sister had the meatball sandwich and it's HUGE! It's a true foot long with tons of meatballs/sauce. The rest of our party (kids) had the pizza and they said it was good as well. They really liked the taste of the sauce. Highly, highly recommend this place. It was easy to find and plenty of parking. Apparently they deliver as well.
