The staff handles your food without gloves. I could see the same person fiddling on a phone in between customers. Totally gross.I got a quite pricey cheeseburger that was nothing special. I waited a long time, even without any customers in line.

I ate here before and was planning to visit while in town for Vegfest. Current reviews are troubling, so will take a back seat until feedback becomes more consistent on the positive.

The single best vegan wrap I've ever had.Tightly wrapped, no falling apart. Tofu was delicious and well seasoned. Peanut sauce was amazing, had to go back for more since I was pouring it on after every bite.Definitely going back again to try everything else!

Do NOT eat here. I have never posted a negative review, however, I feel it's important for folks to know there are many other places to get decent vegan food.I am old school--as in was a vegetarian for 30 years and now a vegan for 10 years. I know vegan food inside and out because I run an ingredient household. We make just about everything from scratch including oat milk. So when I say don't eat here, I mean it.While the owner may be well intentioned, the food does not reflect much care. You order from a kiosk; the food sits in large stainless containers; and what you get to eat is room temperature at best. We ordered the Ope Epa. We also ordered the plantains. I've lived all over the world and have eaten many a version of fried plantains. These were overfried, soggy, and covered in a sweet sauce that rendered them inedible. The Ope Epa was a salty mush, which made distinguishing even the peanut flavor impossible.I ate 1/3 of the Ope Epa and one bite of plantain. Done. There is absolutely no point in eating bad food. It is great that plant-based options are now more readily available than when I started (the only choice then was a bowl of iceberg lettuce and a tomato.) But with so many ethnic options (Sampa's Brazilian comes to mind,) or any Indian, Ethiopian, or Thai restaurant, why settle for this? Even Walnut Street Cafe has a great tofu scramble with a variety of ingredient options. The general public is being asked to eat substandard vegan options and to accept them as normal and, worse yet, good tasting.Don't be fooled. Be more demanding. And don't chose Veg on the Edge.

I have been a vegan for 10 years. Vegetarian for 40+ years. I hate leaving a bad review but I needed to do it this time around. The food wasn't fresh. The service was informal and almost non existent.I had the Obe Epa and fried plantain. I would give the brown rice a C+ rating. The quantity of food was reasonable. The plantain was fried beyond recognition. The Obe Epa sauce wasn't anything special even though I was excited to have it giving the list of ingredients. If you are not discriminating and you need fast vegan food and like beyond meat. You will have some options.

Concept is good, but service was awful. Very slow for one item despite it not being busy and some questionable food safety standards.

Fresh, healthy, and tasty West African food served in a cool food court. Just what I needed after a long hike.

Currently, I am traveling and I checked before coming to Santa Cruz where I could get a good plant food meal. Veg on the Edge had plenty of lovely reviews and when I saw they offered Obe Ata (Ashake Pepper Soup) I was excited to try it. Once I got there, Alex helped me and he was so friendly and attentive. He mentioned how they were out of suya mushrooms (although he put them in the oven, so I could try them later) and asked if I was okay with jackfruit as a sub. The soup was perfect. Spicy, lots of flavor, and filling. When I was finished, Alex mentioned that the mushrooms should be ready in 10. So, I went to Trader Joes (across the street), got myself a nice beverage for on the road for tomorrow and headed back to Veg on the Edge. The suya mushrooms were soooo good. Wow. Peppery, flavorful, hearty, anything you want a mushroom to be. Btw: the jackfruit sub was also great! Alex and team, thank you for the hospitality and delicious food.

If you follow my reviews you know how much I adore capsaicin. You get it in spades with the Obe Ata soup, along with a lot of antioxidant-rich black pepper adding to the hot factor.I opted for added tofu and jackfruit for a unique and very pleasing meal. Grab the tofu if you are looking for a bump in your protein levels. The jackfruit is a must if you are looking for added texture and flavor. asking for the green pepper sauce for the tofu and jackfruit. Also add to the bowl's liveliness.

one of my favorites and a consistent go to when i need to feed my soul. the peanut stew is an amazing pick me up if i'm feeling off and the balance of flavors is spectacular. the wraps always hit the spot when i want a quick, filling, and delicious meal or snack. i usually pair one with the cassava fries. i've literally had everything on the menu and have never been disappointed.
