The scrambled eggs tasted like water and the potatoes were burnt. The glasses were so small it was 4 dollars for a refuel

I would give this place a zero star, but I couldn't the scrambled eggs, really runny, and the glasses were made for little kids overall this place is sh#t.

So sorry to see a cute place with good breakfast, go so down hill We used to eat here a while back when we lived in Santa Cruz, so visiting this weekend we of course went back to the Windmill before we left. Wow I mean Wow, I think it goes down as the worst breakfast in my life, and I'm 52. I ordered French toast and crispy bacon. The French toast was uncooked in the middle and burnt black on the sides the bacon wasn't crispy it was pork jerky couldn't even chew it. Left the whole plate uneaten. It should be ZERO STARS for food and ambience, it literally looks like the building was about to fall down and had tarps all over it. The only saving grace was that every person at the restaurant was super friendly and efficient at taking our orders and serving our food. The kitchen staff needs to be fired. This was the end of our vacation. We drove home after breakfast. Bad choice for food to end a lovely weekend. No Pics because we just drank our coffee and left

Food is ordered at the hostess stand and a chalk broad that is not very clear. All condiments are self serve but they did even explain that. And not enough for all the tables anyway. What kind of restaurant doesn't even have sugar for the coffee. Food tastes old I think they made the toast the day before. Service is lack luster. Seems like the employees would rather be ANYWHERE but work. Very small and cold inside. I've had better food and experience with more friendly people at Starbucks, but we wanted breakfast not a snack.

Wild that this "sandwich" was over 10 dollars for a paper thin BLT. I'd do one star, but the greeter that helped us was kind, and the efficiency of receiving the sandwich was prompt. Probably easy to be fast considering the busty quality of the sandwich was lacking. We ordered the sandwich on sourdough, but it was the cheap kind of sourdough where if someone told me it was white bread, I would have believed them

Lots of gluten free options. This is a funky Santa Cruz experience. Good food, friendly service, relaxed atmosphere, indoor or outdoor dining, and it's unique - you can tell your friends about it. We go here whenever we're in SC.Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options

Sweet place. Breakfast and lunch. Had breakfast. Eggs were perfect and the Americano was one of the best I've ever had I highly recommend this place.

We came here out of curiosity, since we do not know anyone who has been to this cafe after 20 years in Santa Cruz. We drive by it all the time on our way to other restaurants. Well, we understand why not a single friend or neighbor has ever been or recommended this place. The staff, if you can get them to make eye contact with you, are not friendly. Sadly, the food did not make up for their poor behavior. Ordered a scramble, the eggs were burnt and there was just no taste to it. Scroll through the reviews - none of the 4+ star reviews are from residents of Santa Cruz. Most are "Elite" Yelpers. These reviews are ushering in customers who will no doubt find the experience to be a waste. There is so much good food in Santa Cruz, don't ruin your day with this place.

Cute cafe. The homemade chai latte wasn’t very good but the mocha was super tasty.

Never left a bad review for a restaurant but here it goes... subpar food. the server Paula, I believe, gave my girlfriend the wrong bagel and as she was getting up to tell them, Paula comes out in a rampage with the right food blaming her for taking the other customers food. Paula goes and drops my girlfriends bagel on their table and continually, loudly proclaims that my girlfriend had “takin” their food. Just a joke. In the end, none of us got what we paid for (overpriced) and it was pretty hostile so we won’t be returning back.

Extremely rude owner - who kicks out her customers…It was raining out so I asked if I could sit inside. Ordered breakfast and coffee. After less than 15 min *while still eating*, I was asked to leave because “they don’t like people inside too long because of covid”?!? In 2023? I can appreciate some lingering sensitivity but a double masked business owner who doesn’t want people in her own business probably shouldn’t remain in business. There are too many good coffee shops in Santa Cruz to waste your time on this one.
