Excellent winery and service. The wine is aged so the cork does not stay in tact. Need to strain the wine. Great day of music and relaxing. Thank you.

Disclaimer: this review is very late. I went to Cottonwood months ago, but only had the time to write a review recently. Everything here is from my notes of the place and from memory. My girlfriend and I were driving around the area when we stumbled across Cottonwood. A search on Google prior to the drive had Cottonwood as one of the wineries listed in the area, but we didn't know we would come across it until it was right in front of our eyes. It was a lazy weekend, and it didn't seem like there were a lot of cars on the road. We kept driving up their driveway until we landed on their parking lot. To our surprise there were only two cars in the large parking lot! We were looking at each other, unsure of what to make of the situation. Maybe they were closed? Google showed that they just opened a few minutes ago, maybe that was the reason why there weren't many customers. We almost got back into the car and turned around until I tried to open one of the main doors, which opened up. The interior of the place was interesting. It's like someone was in the process of moving into a house, and what stood in front of me was someone's kitchen that was modified to fit a bar. There were some crates of wine neatly strewn around in seemingly random places. There was only one employee behind the bar and a couple that was conversing with him. My girlfriend and I sat down at the bar and was greeted by the employee, who went over what was offered. The tasting menu was simple but affordable, with several wines that were prominent in the region. Each wine was great, with each one sporting different notes and flavors that were fun to pick at. The last one was the most memorable; 2004 Elizabeth's Vineyard pinot noir. It was so good that I had to order four bottles to take home! The employee even gave us a wine strainer because there were more sediments than usual in the wine because of its age. Asides from the wine, the surrounding area of the winery was very pretty. I read later on that the winery also hosted events. The scenery and good wine are definitely a great combo that holds up the winery. Before we left, the employee gave us a brochure that shows the other wineries around the area. It's nice to see that these wineries are working together to ensure that the entire area is being represented, not just themselves. I've been meaning to come back to Cottonwood to pick up more of that pinot before they run out. I'm sure that with more people around it would make for a great winery to meet friends at!

Discovered this place on the wine trolley. Even better than the wine, which is already pretty good is the gorgeous views of this winery. There weren't many people there when we went and that combined with the views of nature made this place an almost meditative experience. The staff was friendly and treated us kindly.

Very inviting! Super friendly and welcoming! Great wines! Ended up buying 4 bottles. They were accommodating to children, they offered my little one blocks and a treat for my toddler which was super sweet!

If I could give this zero stars I would. All the wines SUCK!!! The service was piss poor. The waiter, commented when we said we were going to old Town Orcutt, "even your lot can make it." So rude! The manager argued with me, after I wanted to buy 2 bottles and with my party of 10 and NO ONE bought a bottle!! I will not go back and I will NOT recommend this winery to anyone! I would NOT go!

Amazing winery. Norm the owner is awesome. He still sells 2002/2004 Pinots. He also makes amazing Chardonnay's. He still has 2011/2014. Great!

We came to the first Sippin Sunday event that Cottonwood had this summer and it was so much fun! The ambiance of the winery was relaxing and welcoming! They had live music going, a tasty charcuterie available for food, devious wine and amazing service. They welcomed a very creative coffee cart & our 360° Photo Booth for added entertainment! We had such a blast!

Honestly, just had the worst experience I've ever had with any Winery. Definitely skip this place. I thought that the Chardonnay and they're Pinot was OK for the price they advertise it at but when I received my bill, they had double charged me. after working out with the manager their mistake I waited for my refund on only to have none come. Fast forward to a month and a half later I called again to find out why I had not received the refund. The new manager had no idea as the old manager was no longer working there. I thought OK give them some grace as they're obviously having staffing issues. I try to work things out with a new manager This led to me only being issued $103 of the over $200 that I had been over charged for. Then the owner (who I can only assume was intoxicated) called me directly to tell me why he thought his wines should be worth more money and I should be happy with the refund they gave me even though it was $100 less than I should've been given. Couldn't believe what I was hearing. Definitely won't be going back to Cottonwood Winery. They definitely need to get their house in order.

Rude staff who make snarky comments should find a different industry to ruin. What a fall from grace this place has had, used to visit with family frequently but i can't watch abuse from staff.

If I would give it 10 stars I would! I absolutely loved this winery! It’s a hidden gem !!! The wine was perfect, the scenery was amazing and the workers were fantastic ! Especially Ciara !! She was such a delight and always at your service. No matter what we needed Ciara always came through ! Will definitely be recommending and attending again! So happy!

Pro: Beautiful location.Cons: The staff is unprofessional, and perks of being a "member" are sub par.I am not a member and never will be due to how poorly my friend who WAS a member is being treated. The concerns were brought up. A meeting was set and the owner couldn't bother to show up. We also have friends who are considering canceling their membership because of this situation.I do not recommend and I will never go there again. I'd skip this one on the wine trolley if I were youTo anyone considering becoming a member, read the details thoroughly. 1, 2 or 4 complimentary tastings per YEAR. Most wineries want their members visiting as often as possible and to bring other people to share their wine with. Not Cottonwood. I'd give 0 stars if I could.
