Usually great but constantly canceling orders after an hour of waiting for them don't bother

I highly recommend you don't go here. There was no greeting when I arrived. He walked up to counter and stood there and didn't say a word. I ordered an AL Pastor burrito wet. My friend ordered 2 chicken tacos. He didn't say anything and just walked away thru a curtain to the back. We picked a table and sat. About 10 minutes later he came out and put the food on the table and turned and went back thru the curtain. I then went to the counter and asked for utensils. He thru the curtain and returned with a fork and knife wrapped in a napkin. Good was okay. When we were done eating we went up to the counter to pay. He said $22.50. I have him a card. He punched some things in iPad. I asked for receipt. "You want a receipt?" How does this restaurant stay in business?

The food is good but it is a little expensive, there is no bathroom and the place is not very clean, so to speak.

Tacos are a 10/10. I was a little nervous to try somewhere new with my 3 year old but we were already in the lot so decided to take a chance rather than stop for fast food on our way back out of town. I ordered two asada tacos and two shrimp tacos with cheese added and they were the best tacos we've had in a long time and I wish I ordered more. We will be back for the tacos and their delicious red salsa when we come to Santa Maria. It was definitely a hole in the wall and not somewhere I would want to stay and eat but the food was excellent. Glad we took the chance.

One of the best Mexican restaurants in the state hands down. The customer service is great and the food very authentic. Homemade tortillas. Great prices. The place is small but very clean. There are big pictures of the food above the front counter and it makes it easier to decide what to order.

I search will continue for delicious authentic Mexican food. Very disappointed after reading the reviews I thought I'd give this hole in the wall place. Well it is a hole in the wall that isn't really worth trying.

Anytime my family & I came to Santa Maria we'd stop & eat here at Hugos. Overall they have good food. The shrimp tostadas were my favorite! However, last time I went, I ordered my usual food & the woman who made my food didn't wear her long hair up in a hair tie! I saw how she was cutting the limes with her hair down & her fake acrylic nails on. If she worked in the front taking orders it wouldn't be a big deal but she wasn't working in the front, she was making the food which is disgusting if your don't look like you should be managing the food! Luckily there was no hair in my food but I will not be going back to Hugo's
