I'm glad that I didn't read the reviews before I went in because I totally would have missed a hidden gem. When we first walked in there was no one in here.. but it was 2:30 and the Good Will next door wasn't busy either so I didn't think much of it. The gentleman taking our order was extremely nice and answered all the questions and were super patient with us. We decided on the chicken quesadilla and 2 pastor and a carne asada taco. The price was a little higher than normal but not too bad. I've seen worse. A lot worse. As we waited for our food, I got to take in the ambiance... such a cute little place, dressed in yellow. Very pleasant atmosphere. It had a big tv that wasn't on, which I was glad. We went and checked out the salsa bar when he brought our chips and cups for salsa. All the ingredients were extremely fresh. I got the pico and the chipotle-type salsa and some of the carrots and jalapeños... so good. When our food came out I kind of hesitated because my quesadilla was giant. I'm iffy on chicken quesadillas because the meat is usually dry in them.. but not for this one! They used thigh meat instead of breast with was super tender and flavorful and a lot of cheese. His tacos were very good- the meat was moist and tender and there was a lot. On the way out I got one of those lime popsicles and he gave us a giant to go cup of the soda... and was so nice and thanked us so much for coming in. I tell you what- I am a satisfied customer. I will definitely be back next week and I'm going to force my friends to go. All of the people who did bad reviews- give this place another chance.

I'll give this place a 1 star, if I could go lower I would ! Can you say reverse racists, there's no pricing posted in the place so if you're white they are charging different prices. The young girl at the cash register wasn't comfortable charging me 27 dollars for 2 tacos and a burrito, by the cook direction, so she charged me 25 dollars. Don't go here food sucks the cooks are racists!!!

I worked here once a while back. The things I saw and experienced were terrible. Most of my time there, I was alone to handle anything and everything that didn't involve cooking something. The manager, who was also the cook at times, wouldn't throw away spoiled/rotten chili's and other foods stating that "they're still good." Flautas are frozen boxes or bags in the back yet claim they're fresh. The manager has an extreme attitude towards its employees AND customers. If you found hair in your food, he'd say you put it there, and you're just trying to get free food. His "playfull & fun" demeanor was borderline to basically harassment. I couldn't do anything to defend myself because he's the owners son and always will take his side. EVEN TROUGH THERES CAMERAS!!! If you got a good look of that business and its practices. NEVER eat here or risk getting sick. Don't give them money. They don't care about the customers. They just want to squeeze as much out of you as possible with little to show for.

My order was taken fast, no line. I feel like this spot is hidden, when you walk in the restaurant it has the cultural Latin decorations. My food was delivered fresh and hot, and delivered less than 10 minutes. I enjoyed my food.

Got the flautas. More like taquitos. Pretty sure they're frozen and flash fried, so the chicken was tough and the tortillas were dry. Also the oil needs to be changed. Very bad flavor. The salsas are great! Service was awesome. The person that took our order with the tattoos and short hair was awesome! The air temp was very, very warm. Ventilation is needed for the heat coming out of the kitchen. Or at least prop the door open. Came once before and enjoyed it. This time, not as much. Added note, I like that they have the cebollitas dish. Simple is best.

"Could've been better" is my rating, and that's for sure. My husband and I took our 2 boys here for lunch yesterday. The salsa at the bar was a little too spicy, and we like spicy, just not that spicy. So, I switched to Pico de Gallo. NO FLAVOR. None at all. I added salt, and it was still meh. I ordered the shrimp tostada, and it also lacked in the flavor department. I ordered a Sope with shredded beef and was surprised the beef was very good. So they get accolades there. My son ordered nachos and it was rinky, dinky, and expensive for what he got. My other son ordered a torta and said it was "okay" but didn't want to finish it. My husband ordered a sope that he liked, and also and we each got a drink.I didn't pay the bill but today, when I went on my banking app, the total for this was $65!!!! Yes, I said $65!!!! This is not a fine dining or even a moderate dining restaurant, it is a hole-in-the-wall taqueria. I was thinking max, it should have been $35. They are trippen. I'm still in shock. I would have gone to a nice sit-down restaurant if I wanted to pay that much. Good luck, people.

Came here for some Tacos. I wasn't impressed at all. Tacos were subpar. I ordered one of each(asada, lengua, tripa). The asada taco(beef) was dry and lacked salt. The tripa taco had a good soft texture but was way too salty. Lastly, the "lengua"(cow tongue) taco was by the far best out of the three. It had a good amount of lengua and it was seasoned right.

There was only 4 people there but it took a long time for the food to come out. The Mixed Fajita plate is huge, mostly meat, not really any onions or bell peppers with a small side of rice and beans. For the price you pay, you're better off going to a restaurant or a taco truck. We paid 10.99+ for a small, skinny, mostly tortilla, kid size carnitas burrito. My husband couldn't even eat it because it was so dry and the rice wasn't even cooked all the way. I was hoping for better results from the other reviews I read. We wont be going back.

I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant today, it was clean. I ordered the enchiladas plate, enjoyed all of it. I will definitely be going back. The cheese on the enchiladas was a stand out for me and their salsas bar was a hit.

A hidden gem in Orcutt. Not much for atmosphere, but they have a great fresh salsa bar. Their authentic pastor is cooked on a vertical rotisserie and served with a sliver of pineapple. Not the best mexican food around but it is really good and decently priced.

Way over priced! lady messed up order because she can't hear from the plastic shield at register. Burrito was ok, too much hard pieces of fat. Flautas were ok, but for $22 for 5 flautas, beans and rice would expect it to be exceptional. Tacos ok, but again way over priced. Better off going to picosita across town. The one thing going for them is their salsa it is very good and very spicy(which i like). One thing i do not understand is that they have a open salsa bar(awesome!) but still have a plastic shield up by the register.

We tried the menudo and carne asada burrito today for lunch. The soup wasn't bad but also didn't wow me. It was spicy and I added sour cream at home to mellow it out a bit. I was surprised at how spicy the burrito was as well. I was planning on adding salsas but couldn't even handle any more additional heat. I was disappointed because I was planning on giving it to my young kids but it was not anything they could touch. I would definitely recommend asking them if they can make things Mild if you don't want things spicy hot.
