All was good . Had the Yanagi Roll and Philly Roll, both were tasty. Young the waitress was right on.

Warning do not eat here, ordered a rainbow roll to go, and it had rotten fish on it, And for $18.50 it was very small. The fish was very thin and tiny. I also use the bathroom while waiting for my roll to be made, they were dilapidated and grossly filthy.

The food was flavorless Sadly. I got shrimp and chicken and my friend got the calamari and shrimp, both at the teppanyaki grill. This is my favorite type of restaurant and I was so disappointed when I saw the cheap menus, and they I still got extra fried rice (big mistake). The food is at least $10 more then other similar restaurant but made with cheaper ingredients. I am pretty sure they used frozen mixed veggies in the rice also not to mention that they barely put any butter or seasoning on anything. I asked for soy sauce to try and help my dry chicken and the flavorless rice but it didn't help. I didn't get the soup I got the salad and the dressing was good but I mostly just got the spine of the lettus. The vegetables part they didn't look washed and they were under cooked plus let me make this clear nothing had enough of flavor. I didn't like anything in my meal. I paid and still tipped but I will not ever go there again and advise you not to as well.

Food isn't as good as it once was. Not sure I'll go again. Staff are friendly.

While the service was great and the people were very nice, I’m saddened to say that the food was honestly pretty bad. The fried rice was pretty good, but unfortunately, that is where the flavor ended. While cooking the vegetables, steak, and shrimp, absolutely nothing was used to flavor the food except butter. No soy sauce, no teriyaki sauce, no salt or pepper. Had to try and add soy sauce after the fact to make it anything close to edible. Very sad because with the people being so nice I would love to go back, but I can’t bring myself to pay that much for food that is not enjoyable to eat.

Took my grandson to this restaurant and ordered sashimi combo, steak and shrimp. My grandson bit into a fishbone when eating a piece of salmon sashimi. I'm assuming they trained this chef outside behind the restaurant. I would be ashamed of myself if I offered my product like this to my customer. I never experienced this in the 3.5 years that I lived in Okinawa, Japan. Time to scratch this place off of our list. I visually inspected the fish myself and saw the bone.

BE WARNED! Prices are not the same as their website!!!! There is no description about quality of meat or how many ounces of meat, fish or anything. I'd imagine other people were shocked and upset as well.

Come on Yanagi! No bar service, TVs are turned off? I loved coming to this place. I live a block away and I've always enjoyed coming to the best Japanese restaurant on the central coast. Now, the wine prices are whites out, no bar service so you can sit by yourself and no atmosphere. Bring back the old Yanagis!! We miss you!!!!! Thanks, A loyal costumer

Food is amazing. The server Emilie was so amazing. I worked in restaurants for over 20 years and her attitude was 1000% Gave me the service that everyone deserves. I'm a creature of habit and order the same thing at every sushi spot. Raw fish first and a collar of some sort. I highly recommend.

Hands down best service. Had the chicken gyoza and they were so light and crispy. Fried rice and tempura veggies so good. Best crunchy roll I've found in Santa Maria. Well done Yanagi.

Wait time was terrible. Had to wait over an hour for our online order. And there was no compensation for our wait time. Won’t be coming back.

I've had them plenty of times and every-time it was fantastic. Most consistent Sushi place I've had in a long time. Highly recommend the sushi tower and the fried rice. Hits the spot every-time.

Only hibachi in town and the kids wanted a"benihana" show so why not? Well more like why?? Called ahead to make sure hibachi tables were open - and got there an hour after opening. Arrived and there was 1 other table of customers - waited 10 min before even being acknowledged at the podium then 3 of us got seated and ordered. Found out there they no longer have LUNCH combos and we were being charged dinner rates and it's soup OR salad - What's with that? Then after we ordered roughly 5 min later another couple wanted hibachi, so we shared a grill... The waitress took their orders and then we waited. Hibachi chef was nice, and did the whole onion volcano, pee boy, and rice heart, egg roll deal! Lots of ! Food was seasoned with salt/pepper/butter topped off with some soy sauce. We all got the miso soup vs the salad - it was lukewarm, and not tasty. For the entrees we ordered: steak & shrimp, steak & chicken, and scallops & shrimp ( 5 scallops and 6 shrimp). We were also given dipping sauces upon asking one is a cream sauce and the other a ginger - I mixed them both to give the food flavor, because if not it was pretty bland and just tasted like soy sauce or charred. The others sharing the hibachi table also didn't get their beverages until the meal was fully cooked and the hibachi chef alerted the waitress. Giving 2 stars for the show and the chef I wish I would have gotten his name!
