Gluten free bakery with various pastries and lunch options. Came here for an afternoon snack on a Sunday and there was a short line but it moved quickly. There’s two counter seating spots indoors and outdoor tables available. You order at the counter and pay first before sitting. Credit cards are accepted. Street parking available. They were out of pain au chocolat when I was there so instead I got the pumpkin muffin. It was very moist and more filling than I thought it would be. My friend got the chocolate cake, which is less sweet than you may expect, but still good. The people were really nice and the overall atmosphere is lowkey and relaxed.

Love the bread here, especially the chestnut sourdough. I grew up eating traditional German and Scandinavian breads, both in Canada and Europe, and Breadblok's products remind me of many of them. I'm a fan of thick, dense, crusty bread - not white, gummy, or fluffy (gf or not). Breadblok absolutely does the trick. Order the turkey club regularly and adore the hot chocolate. Always happy to pay extra for quality + sustainable/ethical practices. As things stand in today's world, you can't have it both ways (high quality, sustainable, ethical AND inexpensive). I'll always vote for the former! Well done.

Not for me. I NEED me some gluten. I paid $20 for two croissants, so this place is exceptionally pricey. I can tolerate gluten, but I wanted to try this place; the pastries look delicious and appealing. But unfortunately, in my opinion, this place didn't pass the taste test. No flavor. Are all gluten-free foods taste like this? They do have a nice outdoor seating area. Their bathrooms are clean, and the customer service is good.

Because they have everything gluten free! And don't have to question anything! And it's just the bomb.com!!! Would recommend to my gluten free lovers or have a hard time finding bread!

I was so excited that everything in this bakery is gluten free! I also had lunch there. I went with the turkey club sandwich for lunch and I really enjoyed it. The meat and bacon were high quality. It was a little too much bread for me so I took out the middle piece but definitely like a classic club. There isn't much space to eat indoors, just a small counter with 2 chairs but I was starving and in a rush to get on a work call so I made do with the space. I also got the Chocolate Croissant and the Honey Lavender Cake at the suggestion of the employee that was serving me. I thought both of these were a bit dry but the flavors on both were nice. I'd like to come back and try the quiche, focaccia or donuts next. I love that there is a place like Breadblok that exists!

Came here for coffee and gluten free croissant and was thoroughly satisfied. We waited a little longer than usual for the coffee but the staff were kind and offered another croissant on the house. Delicious food and coffee. Definitely must try.

Probably my favorite bread store! Chestnut and brioche are my fav to get (get it sliced). Take it home and straight to freezer if you're not using it. This bread will last you 30days if you keep it frozen. Gluten free, nut free and dairy free bread! (Some) it's labeled before you buy them.

I got two croissants, one almond and one chocolate. They are outrageously expensive at a price of 9.50 each. My husband hated his almond croissant and did not finish. I am not impressed with the chocolate one either. It just does not taste good.

God bless Breadblok. The stuff of gluten free dreams. Their scones are amazing but you actually can’t go wrong with any choice you make. Be warned the breakfast sandwich is intense - you might need a nap afterwards.

My niece and my sister eat gluten free and they swear by this place. I like to order them treats from here and get it delivered. Every time I've sent them something - both are happy and really enjoy it. This past time I ordered for Hanukkah so they made a gluten free version of the sufganiyot... so for my niece who can't have gluten, this was a super special treat for her. I will say they are a bit pricey for my liking but it must be good if my family is always happy to receive.

I was super excited to see that Los Angeles finally had an certified gluten free bakery using all organic and clean ingredients. My go to place in SF is Mariposa Bakery. I knew prices were a bit high but worth every penny IF the food tasted good. Plus nowhere was making a GF Coffee Eclair or fruit tarts. I am a retired rawfood pastry chef and know what it takes to prep food, cost, equipment etc... I got 5 items: coffee eclair, fruit tart, chocolate donut, raspberry beignet (jelly filled donut) and an loaf of Olive bread. My bill: $79 dollars!!! For 5 things...and I thought living on Maui was expensive! Anyways...the donuts must have been sitting on the shelf for awhile...they were Super Dry not moist. Maybe cooked too long, did not taste fresh that day. It needed more filling inside or frosting...something to balance out the dry cooked dough. The Olive Bread was tasteless...not much flavor and hardly any olives. :( I want to taste the Olives for a $22 loaf of bread! The Mixed Berry Mascarpone fruit tart was ok...good amount of fruit, however..the shortcrust again was too dry. Not enough cream. The best was the Coffee Éclair. Now that was yummy! Moist not dry. Excellent flavor. 5 stars I guess I had higher expectations...I hope you make some changes to your recipes...great concept and offerings... I do hope you succeed...just need a few minor adjustments...to make your pastries moist & flavorful. Aloha

The staff was amazing and patient! The food is a bit pricey but I always expect that at gluten free places. It is a perfect gluten free breakfast restaurant when you want a simple breakfast that doesn't also have to be vegan. They also have plenty of baked goods and drinks as well. Also it is worth noting that the Pink Velvet Latte has rose in it, I don't remember seeing this in the description, but I could definitely taste it. Overall I wouldn't make this a a daily spot but I will be back.

The pastries are good and it’s awesome they’re doing all gluten free. But when my order got rung up and I saw the price tag I truly felt offended. Ten dollars for a croissant that is very average size? I should have looked at the price tag before they handed me the pastry bc I never would have spent that much on it. I hope they learn to give customers more for their money.

Breadblok on Montana in Santa Monica Is an oasis of wonders for those of us who wandered for years in the gluten free culinary desert looking for dessert. My first discovery was Sinners and Saints which has incredible pastries. BreadBlok has lots of large gluten free loaves of bread that provide a nice choice as well as a different set of pastries. On this occasion I took home five GF pastries: prosciutto and Gruyère croissant; pain Au chocolate, olive oil cake, praline eclair and a blueberry scone. The croissants were excellent, as was the Olive oil cake. The blueberry scone was, like most scones, too dry for my taste. The winner was the very tasty praline eclair which I ate right after I had lunch. For those who are gluten intolerant or choose to eat GF, BreadBlok provides a safe and great alternative to the sporadic fare offered in markets.

The staff were very nice and helpful. The coffee was pretty good as well. I ordered the breakfast plate and nearly every item was just bland and flavorless. Feel free to ditch the gluten but don’t throw out the seasonings too!The most flavorful things were the beet hummus on the salad and the French toast.
