Hillstones Santa Monica is a must-visit restaurant for anyone craving delicious Hawaiian steak. The ambiance at Hillstones is upscale yet inviting, with a modern and sleek design that creates a sophisticated dining experience. The staff is professional and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of your meal is perfect. Now, let's talk about the star of show - the Hawaiian steak. It is simply mouthwatering! The steak is cooked to perfection, with a juicy and tender texture that melts in your mouth. The Hawaiian flavors are infused into the steak, giving it a unique and delightful taste that will leave you craving more.Overall, Hillstones Santa Monica and their Hawaiian steak are a winning combination. Whether you're looking for a special night out or just craving some amazing food, Hillstones is the place to be. Don't miss out on the opportunity to indulge in this culinary delight - it's an experience you won't soon forget.Only bad thing is they no longer have the salmon appetizer

The hostess and front staff are rude and clearly forget they are in the hospitality business. We came in with our party of 8, including 3 weel behaved older children. There were multiple tables close together and we just asked for two next to. She did her beat to disuade us from staying letting us know we'd be nowhere near each other. Then lying that they needed to reserve those tables for ADA, but gave to a family with a baby. Meanwhile, there was a dog sitting in the table next to us.Our sushi rolls had little flavor, nor the tuna tartare. Don't bother if you are looking for a respectful experience or want great food.

Highlights: Spinach and artichoke dip (super good); coleslaw (some of the best I've had); walnut cobbler dessert. The nigiri plate was okay -- their soy sauce tasted off to me.The rib meat was cooked very well (fall off the bone) but the sauce tasted off to me -- perhaps too much vinegar.Salmon salad was okay; salmon was kinda chewy.Service was okay (had to ask for water refills; they took my dirty napkin without replacing).Overall, overrated.

The salmon here is amazing, cooked to perfection. I prefer the sauce to the side, though it does taste good.

Just like all the other Hillstone restaurants... meaning it's always exceptional. I've been to at least 15 Hillstone company chain restaurants around the country and they're all fantastic. The sushi is phenomenal, who would think an American style restaurant could do Sushi so good. The pressed Sushi is amazing, as well as all the rolls. Service is always fast and efficient, even when they are busy. Time standards are number one priority with Hillstone and it shows. The speed and consistency is king here. Do yourself a favor and eat here and walk to the pier and help work off all those calories! Lol. Great stuff

Host and hostess folks were not present, and did not communicate very well so we left and went to another restaurant.
