Unfortunately after 33 years the Interactive Cafe has closed (high rent increase). It was a great community coffee shop owned by a Santa Monica couple. It will be missed.

I absolutely count on this place for my sanity for my walk to work. The bagel and lox is sublime. Always served with a 'good morning'.

I paid $22 for two butter croissants, one bottle of naked juice and bad service… wouldn’t come back.

You know those places you go where the people taking your order are raging A-holes, with no knowledge of basic human interaction, and the food you have to choke down because it's so nasty? This is that place. The crusty owners, ancient relics with dust falling off their bodies are miserable people who do their very best to not encourage repeat business. Nasty people!!!!

Food was gross. Great location, such a missed opportunity. Salmon burger was bland, bun was hard and stale. Do

Ppl are nice, food affordable. Panini yummy. And they were opened when I arrived in Santa Monica from San Francisco early AM as I'll head to Expert Dojo in the Afternoon for Zhive Media's launch. It's a relaxed atmosphere, nice jazzy music in the background. We definitely return.

Already thankful to see open cafe at 6am. Staff was friendly. I had one almond croissant and Oatmilk latte. The coffee somehow taste a little different from what I expected tho. Croissant was good, big and tasty. Washroom was clean.

Not sure why this place has such low Yelp rating! My wife and I tried it for the first time and our sandwiches were very fresh along with the pastries we had ordered. Returned the next day for a breakfast sandwich and it was just as good. Give this place a try.

The negative reviews are right, disgusting place and poor service!!! I found bunch of hair on their forks by register when I told the cashier sue just rolled her eyes, grabbed it and put in trash!! Tiramisu dry and just yucky place overall. The person who reported them to health dept did good for that, I’m too busy to do that on my trip. These are clearly overworked and underpaid you can tell with the attitude sadly.

Airy, but dark, this spot next to the equally dark and airy Hotel Carmel that I stayed in. I was given two gift cards to use here, and my goal was to use up the cards and enjoy a little breakfast. This place has high ceilings and eclectic furniture. I ordered the baklava and a latte. Sweet! Just under the price of my gift cards! The latte doesn't take too long to make, and it is not bad. The baklava was a little over soaked, but also not too bad. I had waited for my latte seated at one of the tables. The table was not quite sticky, but felt not quite clean. I couldn't be sure. Overall, this is not a place I would frequent, but it did the job I needed to fulfill my breakfast needs.
