The service was wonderful, we had a big party and came in about an hour and a half to close, the staff was so kind and gracious in letting us stay a little after close. Such wonderful prices for the quality and service, cannot recommend enough.

Didn’t enjoy it. We ordered through the omakase who asked very basic questions like do you like rice, sauce and spice, and level of knowledge of fish. He ran up a $300 bill ordering specials for two, explaining a bit about fatty tuna. The girl bringing food was too quiet to be heard.Zero decorations on the food. The atmosphere is bad, like a hole in the wall type bar.Fish was great, but not worth the price.

We ordered the Japanese style fried chicken, fried gyoza, pk3 hand roll, and the miso ramen with the spice on the side. Everything was delicious! What a great find. The restaurant was not busy at all on a Sunday night. Service was quick. It is definitely a must try!

The place is small but they have good service. The rolls are a little bit pricy but it’s good. I love the ramen, broth is good and they serve really big bowls.

Kanpai is an excellent little Japanese restaurant found on Wilshire and 22nd in Santa Monica. I have been to the original location many times and decided to try this location closer to my home. It did not disappoint. The sushi and the salmon teriyaki was delicious. The quality of the food is elevated with a great presentation so this is a must for foodies. My compliments and respect to the chef. You can find menu items here that are original and only found at this restaurant. We tried this new cucumber dish. Mind blowing. The service is personable and quick. The atmosphere is casual and feels cozy and works with the delicious cuisine. I wish I had taken photos of the food.Vegetarian options: I saw a few vegetarian options.Parking: During the week there is plenty of street parking near this location.

Kanpai has a variety of fish on the menu! The meals here are delicious which is definitely something to look forward to on my next visit!
They just don't serve black people and the place is super empty all I wanted was a soup I think it was a sign I wouldn't recommend to anyone

Run, don't walk to Kanpai Santa Monica for their incredible Yuzu Ramen. It is the best ramen around! Super tangy because of the yuzu with just the right amount of spice and kick because of the thin sliced jalapeños floating in the broth. The additions include meaty pork belly, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, hard boiled egg and of course plenty of noodles. We dined in once enjoying the atmosphere ordering the ramen and a few starters. Last week, we did take out because I was sick. We added the chicken salad to balance out the meal. Delicious! I swear Kanpai's Yuzu Ramen rivals traditional chicken soup as penicillin for anyone suffering a cold.

Had a reservation today at 12:30pm. Showed up and it was closed. Signs said it should have been open. Yelp said open. Turns out they are closed on Tuesday. Not impressed with their customer service. No desire to try again. Went to Noma down the street. Excellent food and service. I looked in the window again when we finished eating and still close. Didn't look appetizing even empty.
