Delicious food, a kid friendly environment service was lovely! Surely recommend! We have had a hard time to find a delicious seaweed salad in town and theirs was great :) kiddos enjoyed their rolls as well. Very accommodating

First time here tonight (on a Friday) and what a cute place! Love the little wooden bridge as you enter the restaurant, cherry blossom faux tree and Japanese decor. There's even a couple of cute private dining rooms & a small outdoor eating area. Service was attentive and friendly. Shout out to Jose. Food was great! Miso Soup - Seaweed Salad - hubby said it was meh as he didn't eat much of it Black Cod - flavorful, tender & perfectly flaky Mixed Green Salad - great Truffle Salmon Carpaccio - hubby said it was good & fresh Yellowtail Jalapeño - hubby said it was good & fresh Albacore Sashimi - hubby said it was good & fresh King Salmon Sashimi - hubby said it was good & fresh Would definitely come back if in the Santa Monica area again. Oh and love the cute "wallet" the check is placed in & given to you. @travel_lifestyle_chow

I'm very glad my husband and I chose to have a lunch date here for our anniversary! We got the lunch special Miyabi Omakase. I'm not normally adventurous, but I tried everything (including Monkfish liver that was a little freaky) and IT WAS TASTY! The Miyabi Omakase is a good sampler of their menu. It includes sushi, sashimi, cold sides, and skewers. Very glad we got to sample a bit of everything, including Toro and King Salmon. The service was great as well, both employees we talked to were very kind, helpful, and able to adequately explain/answer questions on all the food we ordered. We will definitely be back to try their Wagyu!!

When planning a hangout with a friend I hadn't seen in years, I suggested Kappo Miyabi for lunch based on her recommendation of its amazing Japanese cuisine. My dining experience there only confirmed her praise. While the menu leans toward the pricier side, it's one of those places where the quality justifies the cost. With plans to visit Wanderlust Creamery after lunch, I opted for a lighter meal and shared a salmon avocado roll and chirashi lunch special. The fish was impeccably fresh, delightfully fatty, and incredibly flavorful. And of course, no post-lunch food poisoning scares (always a bonus, haha). The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. Reflecting on it now, I'm grateful I stumbled upon this gem on Yelp. I wouldn't hesitate to revisit Kappo Miyabi next time I'm back in LA.

We stopped in for a quick dinner after a day at Santa Monica Pier. Great service & fantastic food. We loved the private feeling of the dining areas because we were all so tired from the day. Definitely a great stop!

Made me feel like I was back in Japan! Delicious authentic food, kind service, and beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommend the Unagi hot pot, natto tofu, and miso udon. Perfect for a fancy date!

This review is for dinner only. We came here for the weekend dinner and were kind of disappointed due to the good reviews we saw on yelp. Albacore Handrol (2/5) : This was the most disappointing item of the night. The handroll was very dry, and albacore was just okay. It tasted like it was sitting out there for a while. It did not taste fresh. Grilled Squid (5/5) : Surprisingly, this was my favorite item of the night. Charcoal grilled squid was smoky and the mushroom and onions sweet added the texture complimenting the dish. The pepper also added the nice kick and I loved eating them together. If you are not into spicy taste, just don't eat the peppers. The sauce itself was not spicy. Kappo Miyabi seafood box (3/5): I enjoyed the uni and crab, but I expected a bit more since it was pretty expensive ($39). The fishes were diced into small pieces, so it was hard to taste the individual pieces. It felt more like leftover cuts rather than premium cuts. However, fresh seaweed was a nice touch. Overall, it was decent, but did not satisfy my fish cravings. Their menu is on their pricier side, but I understand that we are paying for the location. The interior was pretty standard. We got a seat in one of the rooms, but the seating was uncomfortable. That being said, if I am in the area again, I would like to try their lunch menu. The lunch menu seems to have more varieties for fresh fish with more reasonable prices.

Favorite local Japanese spot on the west side! Food is very authentic and menu offers a wide range of options. Great atmosphere!

We happened upon this place while exploring Santa Monica beach and being turned away from the neighboring Gyu Kaku (told that there would be a 2-hour wait for 6 people). We called the restaurant and asked if we could be seated sooner and were told to come right over. It was probably a 5 minute walk from the 3rd street promenade. We were instantly seated upon arrival in a cozy part of the restaurant. The server was very friendly and took great care of us. We ordered the uni box, but they said because uni is so difficult to get nowadays, they substitute it with tuna. Okay fine, but maybe you need to revamp your menu because you should not serve a dish that literally says uni in it and not serve uni with it. That was my only dislike with this restaurant and why I am deducting 1 star from my review. The "uni" box dish was still very good nonetheless. We also got the fatty tuna roll and a couple of skewers (steak and pork). The food here is excellent and the fish tastes really fresh, as it should being they are 3 blocks away from the ocean. The price is on the higher end for me though, but to be expected because of their location.

I don't normally write reviews, but this place is noteworthy! The service was excellent, the staff was extremely friendly. The food quality and taste was unbelievable! My boyfriend and I ordered the chicken karaage, a few skewers, miso soup, rice and a ton of sushi! We both agreed this spot was perfect for our date night and we plan on coming back soon.

Amazing lowkey Japanese spot. Went in for sushi but was a nice surprise to see a whole page of charcoal grilled skewers to choose from. We basically tried them all and they were perfectly cooked. Would recommend the pork short rib and the salty, sweet bacon-wrapped shrimp. Nice, attentive service as well. Can't wait to come back!

We were looking for a sushi bar experience last night and did a cursory opentable search for something nearby. Kappo Miyabi hit the list and seemed to have really good feedback so we headed over. We were delighted to see so many open seats at the sushi bar .. now I know why! While the food (a bit pricey) and service were excellent, we were so disappointed that the sushi bar was all smoke and mirrors. Despite sitting directly in front of 3 sushi chefs - we had to give our entire order to our server! I was hoping for the classic slow paced, order one item at a time experience. No clue why they put chairs in front of the sushi bar if it's essentially just counter seating away from the rest of the interior. Regardless we enjoyed the meal but won't be back if we want a classic sushi bar experience.

We had a really good lunch at this Japanese Restaurant. We tried multiple dishes but what really stood out was the Unagi Stone Hot Rice Pot.
