After discovering brown sugar boba at tiger sugar in Taiwan (which recently opened in Rowland heights), we have been on a quest to find something similar on the west side. We were taking a walk this morning in downtown Santa Monica and looked up boba in the area. This was the only place that popped up. We were familiar with it, it is in a dinghy little corner that doesn't appear too appetizing, however it is one of the only boba spots in our area so we decided why not. We ordered the house milk tea, which was the only brown sugar option. We were disappointed to find that everything they offered were premixed drinks, not like the other brown sugar which is streaked on the inside of the cup, that you shake up. The taste was ok, tasted like tea mixed with cream, no brown sugar goodness. The boba pearls were soft but nothing special. I would say this is a touristy boba spot and not a tasty authentic one. Santa Monica needs a tiger sugar!

This is a no-frill boba place that has consistent good/well cooked boba and great service by a very down-to-earth guy. This is my favorite place to get boba, better than anywhere on Sawtelle. The smoothies are fresh and tasty as well. I've been coming here for years and always looked forward to stopping by whenever I shopped at the promenade. Thank you, Boba Promenade Cafe!

Just okay. A small place tucked away with a couple outdoor seats. Went on a summer weekday afternoon and there was no wait. It was a little too pricey, but it's the Promenade... I wouldn't go out of my way for this place, but I'll probably go back

Got stomach poisoning from the boba here. Writing this review so that owners are more careful with their milk product. Was throwing up all day 30 min after ingesting half a 50% sugar boba milk tea. Absolutely horrible.

This place has good milk tea, however when i had my iced tea with boba, the boba was only watery. Please flavor your boba!! However, I'll still be coming back..

Love this place-One of the better boba spots around SM! Decided to get the Milk tea boba and it was the perfect amount of sweetness and didn't upset my stomach! Lines do get pretty long-It's usually only one guy working, so just be patient because it's worth the wait.

Less better than the rate in yelp. I felt like I'm drinking strawberry coconut syrup. Tastes bit artificial to me. Topping boba was not bad.

This is probably the only boba spot near the promenade and I was craving boba. Ordered a Thai tea boba, which I've never had a bad one of.. until today. It tasted so watered down and bland. The boba itself was fine but my craving definitely was not satisfied :(

Yes! After losing Infusion Cafe, Ted has picked up the mantle of Best Boba in LA! They have boba! They have coffee (Groundworks)! The boba is always cooked perfectly, and he'll make your drink however you like (no BS about sugar levels or not being able to add things in / leave them out). The only downside is when I forget they are closed on Mondays and come by dreaming of sweet, sweet boba... Damn! Another day of anticipation again :-O But that just makes Tuesday's victory all the sweeter. Prepare for glory !

Best COFFEE in Santa Monica! Best BOBA in Santa Monica! So consistent. Been coming here for years and the quality is always superb. One man operation. Great customer service, very fast and pleasant. Skip Starbucks and Coffee Bean and have a real gourmet coffee while supporting a small business--you won't regret it!

Love the jasmine milk tea here! I get it half sweetened and it's bomb. Boba is some of the best and he makes it fresh daily. Coffee is organic Groundworks. Great place. Will always come back.
