What a great restaurant. The food was delicious from the appetizers, main dishes, deserts and drinks. We were a party of 13 plus 3 under 3 for my wife's birthday. From the moment we arrived, the owner, Fred, met us and made sure we were well cared for, the same care he gave each table. The staff never rushed us and made sure everyone's needs were met including getting the kids orders out quickly while the rest of us celebrated. This is a rare find in today's restaurant world and our whole family looks forward to visiting and dining there soon. Thanks to Fred and his wonderful staff.Kid-friendliness: Our kids ranged from 3 months to 12 years. Except for the 3 month old, the 5 other kids were served quickly so they weren't waiting and melting down when the parents got their dinners. A real plus!

One of my favorite restaurants in all of LA consistently delicious, great menu, super friendly and attentive staff, terrific value and always beautiful interior. Valentine's was crowded and bustling, but still nothing was left out and my friends were all very pleased! Will always return here its a hidden neighborhood gem!

The most amazing drinks, food and service. Every dish was better than we could have asked for and definitely will go back on regular basis. Also the deserts and bread pudding are an absolute must .
The sea bass was delicious as was the baba ghanous but I wish there was a bigger portion of the baba ghanous. The barbecue ribs appetizer was also delicious. The chicken sandwich was fantastic.

If I could give more stars to Upper West, I would! I choose this restaurant, randomly, for my father's birthday, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The food was as creative as the ambience, and the service was exceptional. Our server, Alfredo, was so thoughtful. He brought not one, but two complimentary dessert for my dad. And the manager, Fred, made us feel so welcomed. He came over to our table to talk to us and congratulate my dad. I'm glad I chose this restaurant for my dad's birthday. It was definitely worth the rainy drive from Orange County to LA.

The food is consistently good at Upper West, as is the service. The owner adds a special touch by greeting and seating you, taking your order, and saying a farewell and thank you as you leave. He also checks on you several times during your meal to see if everything is satisfactory and if he can do anything for you. Highly recommend!

We love Upper West! My partner and I went there on our second date and just went for our 4 year anniversary to celebrate! We save this as a go to date spot for us for celebrations. We tend to get the same entrees each time because we like them so much - the short ribs and the flank steak. We change up our appetizer each time - this time we got the muscles and they were very good! My partner said a few of his were a bit fishy tasting but the broth and the bread that came with it were amazing! I didn't notice any too fishy tasting personally. We try to go on Thursday for their half off bottle of wine - such a great deal with delicious food! Looking forward to going back the next time we have something fun to celebrate together!
