This was a delightful family experience where we just forgot about issues, laughed, and enjoyed life. Food was so good we threw some elbows, and the wine selection... just look at the picture. All the walls look like this.Very accommodating staff, our experience was fantastic. Parked in the public parking garage and walked a few hundred feet. Atmosphere, quality of service has us wanting to go back and relive the evening.

Did a Krug wine tasting with Mr. Krug. How cool is that?

I liked this place until yesterday. Sure, dramatically overpriced (I.e their Iberian ham marked up 3-5x from any Spanish specialty market I’ve been to in the states, house cheddar is like 50 bucks for 8oz, etc.), but overall the restaurant has been good and I have enjoyed the product curation. Yesterday I bought some specialty items for a charcuterie board and bought this fancy churned butter for 30+ dollars. I drove home with all of it and was excited to try the butter so I opened it. The sight and smell of it was absolutely horrifying. How could such a nice place let butter of all things sit so long that it rots into a rainbow of putrid mold. I don’t understand it. It would be one thing if this was a grocery store or a small hole in the wall specialty store, but this is Wally’s on Wilshire in the Heart of Santa Monica. With those prices. I brought this monstrosity back into the shop and they barely seemed to react, a muted apology. Then the proceeded to take 15 minutes of my time figuring out how to refund me the item. I’ve spent lots of money there dining and they don’t know who I know - it’s LA after all - and they’re not offering me a store credit, a complimentary product, or so much as a genuine apology for selling me a literal mold culture. Will not be shopping there anytime soon. Extremely disappointed.

What a great place with wonderful service and one heck of a truffle pizza, a great grilled cheese, and amazing octopus! The drink options are endless and the wine list looks like a long novel!!!

Wally's is fantastic and the food is absolutely delicious too! I didn't realize how loud it was until halfway through the evening it was very difficult to carry conversation. If you're looking to have conversation this is hard to do. Also, unfortunately our server was probably one of the worst I have ever had. She never checked on my party, never brought water, never cleared plates. Overall great spot but man the service was AWFUL!

very over priced but the crowd is obviously willing to pay for the "scene". staff is very attentive and well trained. great but expensive wine list. pizza is excellent and actually a good value.

The interior is stunning. Food and bit odd but good. Great wines. But the high stools are not comfortable at all. Cut off the circulation in my legs. Left me dangling. Could not get comfortable tho I tried. Maybe ok for a tall man but that would keep me from returning.

Service was friendly but disorganized. Food was good but kitchen was VERY slow. Restaurant was playing essentially heavy beat dance music at a high volume-- just wrong for a dinner at 6:30 in the evening. Made socializing too hard...we like the restaurant and have eaten there several times, but the loud music will likely be a deal breaker for the future.

We made a reservation and showed up 10min early. They ran approximately 20min late for it. They told us to grab a drink at the bar and they would come and get us. They never came to get us. I noticed a text which made us go back to the host station for our table. The host left us with the feeling like she was doing us a favor for our table. We almost just left. Our server was great and the food was terrific.

My fiancé and I recently had the pleasure of hosting a small and intimate Engagement Brunch at Wally's Restaurant in Santa Monica, and our experience exceeded all expectations. From the moment we stepped into the private dining room, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The ambiance was perfect for our celebration, offering an elegant yet cozy atmosphere that set the tone for the day. Now, let's talk about the food and drinks - absolutely phenomenal! Every dish was expertly prepared, using the freshest ingredients and bursting with flavor. The culinary team at Wally's truly outdid themselves, and our guests couldn't stop raving about how delicious everything was. The drinks were equally impressive, with a diverse selection of wines and cocktails to choose from, ensuring that everyone found something to enjoy. However, what truly made our experience unforgettable was the impeccable service provided by Christian, our server and bartender. Christian went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was taken care of, and his attention to our needs made us feel like royalty. He was not only professional and attentive but also personable and genuinely invested in making our celebration special. If anyone is ever in the market for hosting an event, whether it's a brunch, a wedding, or any special occasion, I cannot recommend Wally's Restaurant enough. The combination of exquisite food, impeccable service, and beautiful ambiance makes it the perfect choice for any gathering. And if you have the pleasure of being served by Christian, you're in for an even more exceptional experience. In conclusion, if you're looking for a venue that will exceed your expectations and leave a lasting impression on you and your guests, look no further than Wally's Restaurant in Santa Monica. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.Book this place - you won't regret it!

On February 2nd, 2024, my wife and I recently dined at Wally's Restaurant in Beverly in Santa Monica, and our experience was far from what we expected. From the moment we arrived, we felt subjected to differential treatment that seemed to stem from racial profiling. The host scrutinized my wife's attire in a manner that felt both unwarranted and uncomfortable. Our discomfort escalated when my pregnant wife was followed to the restroom by a host under a dubious pretext, an action that felt invasive and discriminatory. This was compounded by an incident where I was subtly rushed to finish my meal post-payment and subsequently followed to the restroom by a security staff member, actions that left us feeling surveilled rather than served.Such experiences have led us to question the inclusivity and hospitality standards at Wally's. We can't help but wonder if other patrons have encountered similar treatment based on racial profiling. To those who have dined at Wally's, have you experienced or witnessed anything similar? We believe it's crucial for such experiences to be shared and addressed to ensure a welcoming environment for all patrons, regardless of their background.

I would rate 5 stars if the service was better. Was only checked up a few times but that was only after flagging servers down. We started with one and didn't see him until the end of his shift, and after that was not given a new server. Even then we were waiting at least 30 minutes to flag someone down to get serviced. The servers definitely were not busy as more than half the tables were unoccupied.
