One of my very favorite restaurants in all of Santa Monica if not Los Angeles! They apparently have a delightful, organic breakfast, and many fantastic, vegetarian, vegan, and organic option! They make their menu options with fresh, homemade and many times organic ingredients, and and with love! Everyone I've introduced to Zabies feels like they're enjoying a home-cooked meal! I love soup and Zabies has the best and greatest, (healthy) and delicious (mostly vegan) variety of them! My former partner (now friend) loves their homemade salads and especially their cupcakes!! I haven't tried them (I don't tend to eat sugar and rarely wheat), but supposedly they are some of the best in L.A and a popular to go item. I haven't had much anything else but their soups...mainly because I LOVE them so much! Occasionally I allowed myself to have their yummy, homemade bread, which comes with each order of soup, along with high quality, fresh butter packets (not the cheap stuff a lot of restaurants give you especially for takeout!) I often ordered two, or a soup and salad, and at least two or three soups to go. (I always pick up a few extra soups for myself, a neighbor, friend, and/or a person experiencing homelessness. They are always a hit and so reasonably priced!) Zabies is a family-owned restaurant that's been in business forever over 25 years. They have lovingly served food to celebrities and locals alike, treating everyone who comes through their doors with respect and like part of the Zabies family. Their hours are limited (it's mainly a lunch spot), so make sure to check them, and they have seating indoors and outdoors. It's a lovely atmosphere inside and out. The owners, - especially Sima - are always welcoming and friendly. If you're in the neighborhood definitely stop by! You won't regret it.

I wish I could give a better rating, but I was disappointed with both the quality of food and service received today. My boyfriend and I arrived at 2PM for lunch and were asked if we would like to dine in or take out. We decided to sit outside thinking there was still an hour before close. By 2:30PM we were being rushed to leave with our waitress coming by every few minutes to pick up items - before we were finished eating. The food itself was average - we both ordered grilled cheeses with soups. The carrot-ginger soup had chunks of ginger in it (not blended), and I didn't get a chance to finish the food before it was taken away. Then, when our food was taken away and I was still finishing my coffee, we were asked to come inside and pay immediately - and also if I could finish my drink (I gulped it down in front of our waitress). At 2:45PM, a man came out and said "that's it, you need to go now". Absolutely astounded and confused, we got up promptly and asked when the close time was. He stumbled on explanation saying "2:30PM", but when I noted that the close time online is 3PM, he said "yes, we do close at 3 but today is slow so we are closing at 2:30PM". I don't recall that a store owner will ask you to dine-in if they anticipate shooing you out 30min later. We did not arrive 10 or even 30min before close, we arrived an *hour* before close. If you plan to close early, then please let your customer know that only take-out options are available. Incredibly rude service and I unfortunately do not plan to come back. Please communicate with your customers in a more polite and honest manner.

We've ordered Zabies for 20 for our last 2 tech scouts, and let me tell you Zabies knows how to make a hungry crew smile. Not only are their meals delicious, Zabies also takes the time to ensure utensils are individually wrapped and packed, and each box is clearly labeled for easy distribution. A group favorite is the amazing Salmon Salad, as well as any of their amazing soups. I just finished a bowl of wild mushroom soup and I'm so angry I don't have another one right in front of me. The service is amazing, the meals are amazing, and they're always in communication, ready to make a last second change or alter the pickup time by 30 minutes. Thank you Zabies!

Horrible experience. Food ordered was not as told. Came in to pick up my order & woman was adding things to what was supposed to be kabob without gloves & without her mask her face. I asked for a receipt & was declined. Walked to nearby park & threw it away. Walked back to shop to complain & woman owner was nasty. One star here is being generous

This review is a long time coming as I've been going to Zabie's for several years and I LOVE this place. The omelettes are so good, and I love the rosemary toast! I also love their turkey burgers. On top of that, the owners are such nice people, always pleasant and happy to see you. HIGHLY recommend!!!

Absolutely LOVE Zabies. Really good for breakfast + lunch. The family that runs the restaurant is beyond sweet and hardworking. The soups and sandwiches are delicious (can't beat the price of the combo deal). The grilled cheese and tomato soup is one of my guilty pleasures. Other favorites are the chicken koobideh bowl, salmon with rice + grilled veggies, and the chicken pesto pasta dish. Honestly, everything on the menu is fresh and delicious. Highly recommend you check out this neighborhood spot, esp for takeout!

Had take out a couple of times during this corona scourge. Been many times before. Whether it's in dining or take out, its more then 5 stars. Great, true mom and pop operation. If you're good g to support local businesses, this is one of the musts. Truly great food and good people to go along with it.

Every single dish is the best food experience u have ever had. My personal favorite is the egg sausage and toast combo. The orange juice is fresh squeezed and they have great coffee.

Been working in the area for a while and never checked this place out. It's pretty good, especially for the price in this neighborhood. Definitely recommend checking it out sometime for lunch!

What a great breakfast spot I've had over the last couple of weeks. Highly recommend the southwestern scramble. The fruit is very fresh. This place is a gem.

Person that brought me here had been here frequently and was friends with the owners. I have never been there but felt like a family member once I answered the doors. They were hospitable, friendly, and actually quite kind. The food must have been great as it was a great experience. Anywhere this friend takes me seems to be a great place and it's hard to remember what we ate as I enjoy their company so much.

Wow! Food here is great and it is such a nice and quiet place to relax and have breakfast. We were visiting Santa Monica for a couple of days and went twice for breakfast and it did not disappoint. The price was great also! Bravo!
