We love this restaurant. We are vegan and there are many wonderful vegan choices. The service is superb. We could not recommend this restaurant more.

Okay, not great, but goodish! Last minute orders on busy nights appears to be a new theme with our food orders. So we ordered at about 7 on valentines. Our normal place was too busy so time to try something new. We first looked at door dash but I noticed the prices were significantly higher than pick up (I.e miso soup was $3 pick up $5 door dash). We ordered Miso Soup, the Sashimi dinner, Sake Nigiri, Toro Nigiri and the Lion King roll. The Good... the salmon was all delicious, perfectly fatty not too fishy and tasted fresh. The hamachi sashimi was also fantastic! The Okay... the lion king roll, did I order the wrong thing, did they give me the wrong thing, was it described wrong? It tasted like a California roll with the thinest slice of salmon possible on top. It was good, it fell apart like no roll I have ever had though. The Bad... The Sashimi plate came with a radon piece of albacore, which it didn't say it would have, which no thank you! the Toro was a let down, it tasted old, not rich, fishy and all the things you don't want from Toro. The Tuna in general wasn't great but that is pretty common with most sushi places, since it's the most popular they crank it out and it's not great quality. The Ugly... The miso soup was terrible bland dirty water! Probably the worst I have had from a restaurant. The second I took the lid off you could see it wasn't going to be good! Will I be back? I don't know, we ordered out of necessity and necessity may bring us back

Really good sushi, fresh fish, veteran sushi chef Gilbert takes great care of his customers at the sushi bar. As far as menu pricing goes, Makizushi lands on the affordable side of the sushi spectrum. New owner is a young entrepreneur, doing a great job!

Was not overly impressed with the food. I like more traditional Japanese cuisine. Tempura was okay, not greasy. Teriyaki was good and sushi okay. Miso soup seemed very weak.

Food was good, table service was horrible. They sat us right outside the kitchen, waitress was rude.

Food flavorless. Tempura was bulky and served with teriyaki sauce. Waitress was baffled and brought me two sauces to prove they were different and they were exactly the same. Dark thick sweet teriyaki sauce. Sad as this was once a good restaurant. Waitress was sweet but knew nothing of Japanese cuisine or waitressing.

We finally checked this new restuarant out. We both had the bento box lunch with salmon teriyaki, California roll and gyoza. Excellent food & service! I'm half Japanese, so I tend to be picky about Japanese restaurants. I highly recommend Makisushi! The banana tempura with vanilla ice cream, is to die for!!!!

This was our first time having a meal here. We live close and have been meaning to stop in so dinner out with my grandma was the perfect opportunity to give it a try. It was a super hot day out and their AC felt amazing. Instead of getting both a vegetable and shrimp tempura appetizer we got the tempura dinner which came with soup and salad. The crazy roll was so big it was hard to eat but the flavor was really good. My grandma and I shared the chirashi. It had so much rice under it we took a lot of it home. The fish seemed fresh but it was so cold you could hardly taste a lot of it. The addition of the pickled radish and tobiko. My husband for one of the sushi combos which came with both nigiri and a rock n' roll. The portion sizes were pretty large and we definitely could have ordered less but it was our first time so we wanted to try a little of everything. We will be back again.

The Mexican roll is delicious, especially if you are looking for something a little spicy. They have many other good rolls there as well. 10/10 both visits, and will be back for sure.

I lived in Hawaii for 12 years annd have eaten a lot of raw fish and this is the freshest sushi I have found in Santa Rosa. The Poke Bowls are so delicious. The staff is very professional and are always eager to assist. You can tell they genuinely love their jobs. There is always parking and the restaurant is clean and has nice decor.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options:Miso and vegetable tempuraDietary restrictions: Vegetarian options:Miso and vegetable tempuraParking: Parking options directly in front of the restaurantKid-friendliness: Professional staff
