The older woman making the deli sandwiches...her name was Marie or Maria...was extremely rude and unprofessional. She saw we were standing there waiting to be helped and completely ignored us, had us waiting there for 15 minutes while she hid & talked to other staff behind the counters, making eye contact every now and then so she was blatantly ignoring us. When she finally helped us she yelled at us, threw all the ingredients together messily, and SQUISHED our sandwiches down over and over again after wrapping them up. Who does that??!?? We asked why she was treating us so badly and she started yelling like a crazy person and we had to walk away. Terrible terrible person :/

This is by far my go to Safeway The isles are spacious and always well stocked with a wide variety of quality products that consistently exceeded my expectations. The team obviously takes great pride in maintaining a clean worganized store as well as providing above and beyond customer service 5 stars all the way!!

Very nice, big store but a butcher working there was extremely incompetent. He said he has never heard of skirt steak. Pretty crazy to be a butcher and not know what that is.

Ordered deli food through DoorDash Aug. 25. Delivery was no problem. Got sick a few hours later. Food poisoning. Horrible symptoms. Up half the night. Obviously no food safety training at that store. I think the chicken strips were from the previous day. Filed complaint with Doordash and no response from West College Ave store. Terrible way to treat people. Never again.

0 stars if I could give it. Bakery lady sooo rude went in there looking for a cake the lady was very rude even asked if I could afford it when I asked for the prices. Regardless if I could or not you don't ask that to a customer. This Safeway needs to do a better job on teaching their employees about customer service. Ended up going to a different store where they were way nicer.

I've always liked this safeway. They are the only safeway in santa rosa that has hot oriental food available which is usually served by the always very nice lady that works there. Wish I can remember her name but not today unfortunately. The employee that stood out for me today was Megan /cashier. She did something that I rarely see. She noticed that a couple of shoppers might need another shopping cart, asked them, and then found one for them. It's rarely slow when I visit this safeway so it was busy and she was still paying attention to everything around her. She could have just scanned the items and continue with her work but she chose to go above and beyond. I like that. I did tell her on my way out. You go Megan!

Beware anyone going to the deli for a breakfast burrito or breakfast item. They are now charging $.50 per added vegetable after the first one that you get. Come on Safeway you can do better

Shrinkflation is real at the sushi counter. They try to hide it by putting a little ball of rice under the roll to prop it up. I've tried it two different times. Will not purchase sushi at Safeway again

Buyer Beware: be sure and check the small, light print on everything on the Safeway app. For example my experience today. In BIG BOLD Letters. LEEKS $1.50 each, in small faint letters "Approx" and "$2.99 a pound." The actual price $3.69 for two leeks bunched together. I think it's deceptive.

I'm so frustrated with the "digital coupon" bullshit! The last 3 times I've gone here, 2 times I've had to see customer service to get my discounts honored. If I hadn't checked this last time, Safeway would have ripped me off for an additional $12 for progresso soups. So sick of it. I'm considering patronizing a different market chain.

Wow, I haven't shopped here since it was G&G Supermarket. I was pleasantly surprise with the change. The staff was nice. The store is bright, clean and offers plenty of options and good deals. I recommend the fruit tart from the bakery and Twin Hill Ranch's apple bread.

I feel like giving a five-star wouldn't be right because the cashiers are so strapped and overworked that it needs to be pointed out. These guys are frontline of the war on staff shortage and getting paid min wage to get snipped at ALL day and I appreciate the heck out of em. Onto business...this is the best Safeway in Sonoma county. The deli is astounding, the bakery is mind blowing, they have a great selection of products. The butcher is very knowledgeable. So if you're a manager reading this PLEASE give incentives to your employees. It's a great store but needs more people. Heck I'll come work for you and whip the front end into an efficient flow.

First of all, this location is the best, But this morning while ordering my usual coffee from I tried to type in my phone number and the screen went blank, so the gal asked me for my number, , then I didn't get my usual few cents off, so i asked, WELL... that turned into another employee "barking" at me telling me to use my app. , well I'm a dinosaur, apps are something i know nothing about, so I called the store, got Jeff the Manager,. Nicest guy.... he explained what the employee should've in the first place...

Hope you like waiting 4hrs. You have cashiers who have no idea what they are doing. You have lines down the isle to the back of the store because you don't have cashiers who know what they are doing and just want to hang out in the back of the store.

Our families travels across town for miles in heavy traffic for the delicious Asian cuisine at this Safeway. From the famous G and G Taco Salad that we serve at Thanksgiving and Christmas to the Chinese Kung Pao with spicy peppers, soups, barbecued chicken with five spices. This is the best Safeway store north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Delicious, creative, unique and always delicious. Thomas
