Only problem was we had 4 checks and they divided the wine cost 4 ways and only 2 people drank. It was a major deal to get it straightened out. It actually put a damper on what had been a lovely exp - rience The service was excellent, as was the food. Our favorite place and all of us love to eat! I forgot to mention that we were never offered the senior discount and all if us were 70 or older. In future we'll always ask for it, because they never remind you it's offered.

This was my birthday lunch, and Really disappointing. The hostess, an older woman seating us, might have been one of the teachers of the program, and she seemed very angry and abrupt. That is odd behavior for a "hospitality" teaching course. Later she blamed my friend for "needling them ever since he walked in the door" to his face, when he was being friendly and conversing. Also, her perspective was that "only the students mattered, not the customer" she said that to my friend when we mentioned that we would like to give the server the tip and not the school scholarship program (all the tips go towards that). Her demeanor every encounter was very unprofessional. Regarding food: The bread was fabulous! The salmon was perfectly cooked! The roasted potatoes underneath salmon were cold, no flavor to the aioli sauce. My cauliflower soup was fabulous, the pear fennel hazelnut salad had so much salt on it I felt sick on the way home. I didn't think to return to the salad to have it redone. It's a school, after all, and I knew I would be sharing my experience here and with the staff of SRJC. Right now, I have decided to cancel my 3 other reservations. I thought this was going to be an amazing experience, it was not. I do not recommend this place for lunch.

Unique dining experience. My brother and Mom (many years ago) went through this program and loved it. My brother was placed in a great job as a chef at a well-known winery where he has worked for years. Love the hands on learning, and support for college students getting jobs after graduating. My Mom, brother and I came here to eat recently and we loved all the food. There’s an array of cuisines from Mexican to Asian to Italian - we ate much of the items on the menu. Our server was super sweet. The bakery bread is so fresh - our fav was a cranberry/walnut one. Seniors over 60 get 15% off and reservations are needed in advance as hours/days are limited. Great place to see student chefs in action, eat good food and support this great local program.

What an amazing experience! Couldn't decide what to order because every menu item looked so delicious. Chef extrodinaiire, Shelly, educated us all about the culinary school, and offered up some of the most delicious courses which we shared all around. A lively and fun experience! My tastebuds are saying, "More, more, more"! Thank you Valeta and Shelly for such a lovely day!

Had lunch here today with a friend. We ordered the Dim Sum and it was excellent! We had dessert as well, citrus cream puffs that were delicious and then we stopped at the bakery on the way out. After tasting several items we know we will be back. The prices are a bargain, the service attentive and the food first rate.
