Tons of flavors and the Ice cream is always delicious. Even when line is long the wait isn't bad. Services is good. Would be helpful if the cashiers were more familiar with the flavors and could provide recommendations. Some of the ice cream names are not very descriptive. You can sit and enjoy your ice cream outside. Beware in summer because your ice cream may end up as a puddle on the ground and there is nothing sadder than that.

I love Handel's because of the quality of the ice cream. It's delicious and the service has always been just fine. It is a relaxed to go type of atmosphere. Banana cream pie is one of my favorite flavors but everything I've tried is great because they don't skimp on ingredients.... Real cream, heavy...... it's not diet food.... And it's delicious..... A nice treat when you're not worrying about calories.

Discovered Handel's ice cream in Palm Desert. Was really delighted to find one near where I live in East County. My husband and I come here a lot but that might change. Tonight while eating the Strawberry Cheesecake Chunk, I started gagging on something. It turns out there were small pieces of brown paper in the ice cream. I went back to the window and the boy at the counter says well we use products wrapped in paper so that can happen. No, it should not happen. I also wrote to Handels so we shall see what if any response is given. Very disappointed!

Placed an online for delivery and the order was incorrect and missing items . I contacted the store and spoke with Mia and manager, Rosie trying to get my items. Neither of them were willing to fix the situation or make it right. They said they forgot to give my entire to Door Dash and refused to give me a refund. They said I would need to contact Door Dash myself. This doesn't seem right when they admitted to making the mistake. Super disappointing when I am a loyal customer. Think twice before ordering online with Handels.

Was looking for some GOOD ice cream for my grandkids and myself. This was our first time to try Handel's. Buy was it good!!! This our new go to spot for our Ice Cream needs! lol!

The ice cream is great, but they discontinued samples. With such a large variety of ice cream and weird names, it's crazy not to give samples. I was told it was because it takes too much time, especially when there's a long line. While understandable, we came when there was no line.

Must try their taro ice cream, it's literally one of the best ice creams I've had. Husband got the key lime and loved the graham cracker swirls that were weaved throughout. I'm going to get some of ttaro ice cream to keep in the freezer.

Hate to write a bad review because we come to Handels often and other than some of the workers being rude we had a decent experience. Tonight though was unexceptionable.. I placed an online order for pickup and when I got home with the order (despite the order being correct on the receipt) it was incorrect. Someone else's order. I called and whoever I spoke to told me to come back to have it remade.. I live in El Cajon so not a close drive for me but I went anyway. The lady on the phone did say "I know I'm sorry if you don't want to come back tonight you can come back tomorrow" When I got there, the window lady snatched the bag out of my hand and gave me my order through the window then closed the window. No apology, no offer to refund considering I had to drive to Santee twice for my order, no nothing. No attempt to talk to me, no response to my thank you... Customer service is terrible and I really think there should be some better training for the employees. She made me feel like it was my fault and I inconvenienced them.. lol insane and not people you want representing your business. The owner then tried to gaslight me into believing this never happened and that I'm lying. I am a customer service manager and would literally never come to yelp to lie about someone for no reason..

Do not order online unless you want an unsat experience for ice cream. My online order kept being pushed back in time that I ended up making it to this spot and made it through the line to the main ordering window just to be told I wasn't allowed to order my pick up and had to go wait at the online order window. Mind you my order wasn't made yet and they could've just pulled my order and prepped it since I was already there at the main ordering window. Horrible service. Ice cream was ice cream so can't screw that up.
