There are two choices in Santee. I prefer this place. Great food, great prices, decent service, less crowded, easy parking.

Pho Ca Dao is my normal go to place in Santee for Pho. A friend and I thought we'd try this place for a change. We got there around 1030AM and the place was empty probably since it was so early. There wasnt anyone there to greet or usher us to a table. After a min of standing there, they sat us at a table, came and took our order, and then served us the food. The Thai tea was watery and did not taste right which was disappointing. Then, because our waiter disappeared I had to wait a min and call out to get his attention so I could ask for some mint for my egg rolls. He didnt seem to understand what I was asking, so I asked again, he said "ok" and then never brought it. We also never got our water glasses refilled, which isnt the end of the world, but we were THE ONLY PEOPLE IN THE RESTAURANT. If you only have 1 table it shouldnt be too much to ask to get 1 refill. We finally asked for the check and I asssume our waiter was taking a break or on lunch because he was sitting down and told another guy to do it. Overall, the food wasnt bad which is why I gave 2 stars.... but honestly, I wont be back. If you cant even have decent service when you're the only table in the restaurant, I cant imagine coming here when its busy.

My wife got me the vegan soup with noodles and vegetables for fathers day lunch. The soup was great it had everything I loved about pho when I still ate meat, without the meat. It was a very generous serving I ended up splitting it into two large bowls. All the toppings were fresh. My wife got a vegan "beef" bahn mi which she enjoyed. The tab was pretty cheap. I will definitely be back.

Decent pho and chicken pho. It was not too spicy but had a good enough for a good flavor. It wasn't as good as I remembered it used to be. We enjoyed eating here several times in the past but no longer. The place seems to have been going down a little bit over the years and the service is not as good as it once was. One of the servers looked kind of sloppy with you know with a hat inside and everything. Also, the men's room wasn't very clean.

Ordered the Vegan Vegetable and Noodle Pho & my boyfriend got the Vegan Orange Chicken Plate The food came out pretty quick which was great. The pho is okay. The orange chicken was very dry so we asked for more sauce on the side. After 10 minutes of waiting we asked another guy for the sauce who seemed upset and annoyed, we waited another 10 minutes for a side of sauce. Keep in mind it was very empty, just one other table of 3 and a table of employees eating. Also, the restaurant seemed dirty. The tables weren't wiped well and had heavy watermarks. There were fruit flys everywhere which we kept having to shoo off our food. The service wasn't very great. One of the servers/ workers smelled heavy of cigars and at one point went outside for what I assume a smoke break and stunk up the inside of the restaurant since the doors were open. Unfortunately, I would not come again. Has great potential, just needs a change in management or workers. Somethings not right in the culture they have created.

This place is really yummy!! Way better then Pho Da Ca down the street. Their Veggie pho is loaded with vegetables and is truly vegetarian. Crispy tofu is amazingly crunchy and flavorful. A must try for any vegetarian in east county. The new owner, Tina, is super friendly.
