I always like the Hangout. Love looking out the windows and seeing the ocean while eating a very tasty meal. The staff members are very friendly and the service is good. Bloody Mary's are a nice way to top off a great dining experience.

I would rate this place 3 and a half stars! Four of us stopped for lunch on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The place looks like a large wooden shack from the outside, and the first thing you see inside is a giant bar and the backs of all the people sitting at it. To me, this place has a dark, slightly dingy diner vibe. There was a central seating area, and then on the periphery of the restaurant near the windows was another seating area. The food took a long time to come out, and we had 2 servers so it was hard to know who to ask for help. Three of us ordered tacos, which came in twos with some crunchy homemade tortilla chips. The shrimps on the tacos were small; the blackened Mahi was a generous large chunk, and the fried fish was over cooked. The corn tortillas were slightly tough, and the slaw was watery so that liquid dripped out of the taco and onto your fingers as you tried to eat. The amount of slaw was a lot, so expect extreme messiness!! My daughter got the Panko -crusted mahi which came with mashed potatoes and large chunks of cooked zucchini and carrots. My daughter said the potatoes were a little watery too, but the fish was great. The couple sitting near us had a burger with a stack of giant onion rings. My husband couldn't help from asking them about their food, and they seemed happy. Overall, some hits and some misses, but the seafood was good overall.

Great food and service! Cute place right across from Seal Beach. Bloody Mary's were delicious and clam chowder was so good. We will definitely return.

Beautiful view of the pier! Great All-American food. They have a $28 sparkling wine bottle mimosa brunch until 2pm. Even better service. I will be coming back here to try more plates!

Always a good place to stop in for a lunch or dinner, and always a good place where you know the food will be at the very least decent! I've only ever had their spaghetti (which is great!) but the fried pickles appetizer, is so delicious! The service here is decent enough, never really had an issue but at the same time, never had anything really worthy of a review or a compliment. That's kinda how the whole place is. Casual. Low key. A real Hangout lol

Chorizo breakfast plate was sooo good! Love the vibe on the small seal, beach bar, and restaurant spot

This place burgers are on point. Their fries are like In and Out but thicker. The meat load dinner hit the spot. They grilled their meatloaf so in some ways it was like a Salisbury steak. ? service was really great and friendly

I love the hangout! The food is good and there is a ton of options. The servers are always so friendly and the hostesses very welcoming. I have come here for breakfast and dinner and loved each meal. I've even just taken a bunch of appetizers to go to the beach and it has always been great.

We went here today for the 1st time, and good God I'm glad we did, the onion rings alone are a meal by themselves. Everything we ordered was delicious, the server we had was a absolute angel, the fish and sweet potato fries were slap ya grannie good.. can't wait to go back and try some other stuff..Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs.Wheelchair accessibility: I used walker and was able to park it outta the way
