We were on vacation and looking for dinner with decent reviews. Sushi time far exceeded our expectations. Food was amazing! The baked dynamite was fantastic!

Friendly staff. Great selection. Fair prices. Have been there many times. Dine in is always a 4-5 star. Take home I am always less happy with.

FoodI drove down here from the boring city of Hollister to try out the nabeyaki udon. I enjoyed a tasty hot bowl of delightful dashi-based broth with udon and seafood. The sad part was running out of that hot, delicious food.ServiceThe wait staff only cared about the initial interaction and the end of my time there, when I was finished with my food. The wait staff did not check on me during the middle portion of my meal. I go to restaurants, and I expect good service as part of the experience. Good food by itself does not mean full stars. Two stars for service are gone because they need to improve their service.AtmosphereThe restaurant is in a small strip mall. Behind the strip mall, the area looks rather run down. The strip mall itself was alright. As for the restaurant itself, it's your typical Japanese restaurant with some ink painting of Samarais hanging on one wall. There's nothing that really makes this place stand out as a "You've got to come here." In fact, from the outside it looks rather bland.

Arrived about 5:45 pm just as a table opened up. Ordered calamari appetizer and then 5 rolls for the 3 of us. Got hot tea with dinner too. The food was fresh and tasted great. They have a small dinning room with 1 server so it gets busy. $90 for good sushi for the 3 of us was a great value.Parking: Small parking lot in a small corner strip mall. Street parking also available.

Cozy place to have a casual sushi dinner. The appetizer selection is average but the rolls selection shines! Too many choices to pick from. Be sure to try any deep fried roll, they are so good. They unagi nigiri. Hot sake is a great addition to the meal. I wish they would offer complementary side of edamame. We arrived around 40 min before closing but never felt rushed. Recommended.

Sushi Time has quickly become our go to sushi spot in Monterey. Service is quick, sushi is consistent and good. Dine in and take out both had good quality meals.
