One word to describe this establishment AMAZING! I'm going to be a regular here for sure. The owner greeted me as soon as I walked in and asked if I had any questions about the menu. I already knew what I wanted to order so I went for it. I sat and talked to the owner while waiting for my food and he told me how he started his business and about his passion for cooking. Customer service was great! I have told everyone I know about this place. The food was a hit! Everything I ordered was good!

Great service and exceptional food! So happy I found a good, AUTHENTIC soul food place in the valley area. Fried shrimp, mac & cheese, collard greens, black-eyed peas and hush puppies... all great! Will definitely try the dessert next time. The banana pudding looks bomb as well.

This place is authentically delicious. My daughter just moved to Sherman Oaks and we wanted to try soul food. 10 out of 10, every dish was amazing . We tried a little bit of everything; fried catfish, fried okra, mac n cheese, black eyed peas, onion rings, hush puppies, chicken wings, greens, yams, corn bread. I have no complaints, I will return when I'm in town. My compliments to the chef.

This is a great down-home place. The food was delicious and felt like we were at home in the South. From the moment we walked in to when we walked out. My spouse had the dirty rice, which was perfect in taste and size. It wasn't too spicy or too strong of tomatoes. The sausage was tasty but not so spicy that it overwhelmed the dish.i had the fried shrimp plate with cheese grits and collards as sides. The shrimp were breaded and tasty, the grits were nice and smooth, but the collards were spot on! The collards weresavory, soft but not mushy, and they had enough spice to get your attention but not so much that it stole the dish. The banana pudding was good but not as fluffy as I like but it was a nice end to our meal. Staff was very friendly and a pleasure to chat with. It's nice that the chef came out to chat for a minute and asked for feedback. It was also very clean. This place has been added to our rotation when we want some great downhome cooking in the SFV!
Wow, let's just start there. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this place. Friends and I had a dinner party and I told everyone I would pick. I'm so glad I picked this place because everyone was in love. Will be coming back soon. Customer service was great and very friendly.

My friend told me about this restaurant and told her I would try it out. Due to certain occurrences the day I went, the menu was very limited. The traditional full menu was not available which was a disappointment. I ordered the catfish and shrimp with two sides and It was good. They made your order fresh so everything was hot. The catfish/shrimp plate was tender with a tasty seasoned batter. The greens and yams were pleasing. The yams could have been a little more sweet but overall, it was good. The hush puppies were delicious they had a sweet zest to them which was good with the greens. The macaroni and cheese per my mom was good. I ordered my sister the chicken with two sides to go and she said the chicken was just ok. The place is cool inside with limited seating. The parking lot is small but you can park on the street too. The owner, Greg was very nice and personable. Whenever I go back, I will try the full menu with a dessert.
