My husband and I recently picked up a to go order from Picante and were so happy we chose this spot. Not only are we helping support a small business as COVID restrictions are starting to ease on restaurants, but the food is great so it's a win win!! We each ordered the lomo saltado and got the yucca a la huancaina to share. They kept everything sealed nicely and properly stored as to not put anything with a sauce in with anything that could get soggy. I hate when I order from restaurants and they immediately add it on so this was a great little perk too. Not only was the food so good but the owner and staff are incredibly kind. The owner called me before I picked up my food to tell me she was adding a courtesy appetizer, choros a la chalaca (mussels topped with a zesty fresh salsa). I was super pleased with it and would definitely order it again. I'd highly recommend ordering from Picante!

Just passed by and got me some Lomo Saltado to go. Took it home and ate it drinking a Corona beer. Excellent meal. Tender meat, tomatos, onions, rice, and fries. Love the sauce dipping the slice of bread. Back soon. Thanks a lot.

Excellent restaurant. Just tried their chicken dish and their beef dish. Both amazing. Service is a bit too casual, but he taste of the food makes up for it.

Loved the food and the service was very good! Had Papa a la Huancaina and Ceviche Mixto. I don't like very spicy food and asked if they could hold off on it and they did. It was perfect! Not sure if they have a new name because one of the signs said Papakuna Peruvian Restaurant but regardless, I'll definitely be back.

We went here after growing tired of the wait at another restaurant in the same lot. It's unfortunate that you might easily overlook this gem as it only faces the street and not the actual parking lot.We were the only customers here around 7pm on a Saturday night and were greeted warmly by a server that turned out to be on her first day.The complimentary bread is smooth and pretty pedestrian. You can throw butter on it or even sample one or more of the three sauces: one mild, one medium, and one a bit spicier. The orange and green are similar in heat but I think the orange creeps up a little slower. We ordered pretty typical plates you'd find at a Peruvian spot. Tallarine saltado, lomo saltado, and beef and rice. The entrees, which came out staggered rather than altogether, were preceded by yuka. It was fried perfectly with a warm crispy shell covering a fluffy core. The cheese sauce that accompanies is very addictive and I'm sure you could dip just about anything in it and enter nirvana. The food is distinct in any way. It's not overly seasoned thankfully and there's certainly no doubt you're getting your money's worth. Overhearing the server and possibly owner, it's clear there is a great concern for the future of this restaurant and a lot of thought going in to make it stand out in a sea of wonderful options in this crowded area.

Boyfriend and I came here for dinner after work on a Friday night and we were blown away. Everything was flavorful. The Ceviche Mixto especially blew us away--so fresh! Customer service was also great. Definitely coming back to try everything else on the menu!

This is a nice hole in the wall restaurant. I ordered a camaron saltado and thought it was great. The only thing that made me give this restaurant 3 stars is the service. There was only one waitress and we waited quite a bit to get refills and our check. It really made the whole experience go downhill. Other than that food was great. Might be best to order to go.

I really wanted to like this place. It is in a great location on Ventura, however keep in mind that it sits in a very, very busy parking lot (as expected being on Ventura.)The place has a different vibe on the inside that does not match the outside. The place is dirty, and old looking. The prices for everything is a little higher than other Peruvian restaurant.I ordered a ceviche de pescado, and it was just "alright."I got a water, and after tip the ceviche was 20 dollars.... to me this was just too much. The place could use a lift, or at least a little cleaning. Will not be coming back here.

Food is ok but the ambiance is a bit dirty... I don't think I'd be going back any time soon.

If i could give this place 0 stars i would. The food is terrible, the woman i am assuming is the owner is absolutely horrible. She just made me feel so uncomfortable the whole time. The food was horrible. Dry chicken and everything was lacking seasoning. Plus i swear i saw a roach in the corner. The tables are sticky and everything is overpriced. Save yourself and STAY AWAY.
