Steak wasn't cooked as ordered & for the price it should be. My steak was served to another guest & her's was served to me. Once we switched they still weren't as ordered. Mine wasn't rare enough & her's wasn't well enough. The portions are very small as well!! Service wasn't great generally & the bus boy (elderly man) wasn't good at all. Didn't even ask if finished with food. He just assumed my friend was done & took her salad away which was only half eaten. I'll never go back!!!

My companion and I ordered the rack of lamb, which came with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The lamb was delightfully seasoned and so tender! The mashed potatoes, though a small portion, were delicious, as were the fresh vegetables, broccoli and carrots. For dessert we ordered carrot cake. What a huge portion !! It tasted fresh and quite yummy! Our server was excellent, and kept coming around to see if we needed anything. The place itself is very historic, could use a fresh coat of paint, but the ambience was lovely.

I've lived in the area for 30-plus years and have dined here on many occasions. Typically the food is good...not great. We treated dear friends to dinner last night and couldn't have been more disappointed. The service was fine...waiters were very nice and attentive. The food was subpar at best. First, my wife ordered the prime rib beef dip sandwich which was cold, overly salty and consisted of flavorless meat. After two bites, I gave her my NY strip (which was decent), tried the beef dip and swapped it out for a filet. Like my friend that ate with us, my filet was decent, but cold. Honestly, I've never had a cold steak served to me at a restaurant. With drinks, the bill exceeded $300, so it ended up at around $345 when we left. BEYOND Disappointing.

We enjoy the martinis and the garlic bread at the Valley Inn We are greeted like family although they are packed on a Say evening at 6:30. Today we really went to town and had hamburgers fries and onion rings, and all delicious! Two weeks ago I had a terrific New York steak. My partner had the usual ribs. We did notice that they cut back the portions on the ribs. That means we have nothing to take home ha ha.

Love the Old School vibe at The Valley Inn! You must start with one of their martinis. I went dirty with blue cheese olives. It did not disappoint! We also ordered the cheeses garlic bread, which was the only weak item that we ordered. It's over-priced and not cheesy or buttery. We won't order it again. We both had the prime rib & we have no regrets! The butter cake with ice cream was a great finish to a nice dinner!

The service was wonderful and the food was delicious, I enjoyed my vodka martini. A bit pricey, but we all had a very lovely time. I highly recommend The Valley Inn for date night or special occasion.

Four of us ate here Thursday night. The food was quite good. There was a great mix of people of all ages. So just because this restaurant has been around a long time didn't mean only seniors eat there. I had a Caesar salad and chicken scallopini. Both dishes were very good. The service was prompt and friendly. My only problem was the waitress had a scowl on her face the whole time like she just didn't like her job and the food came out IMHO rushed. There was not a se ond between salad and main.

Old school! Good value! This restaurant is one of the valley's old tried and true experiences.

Provender: this is a great restaurant with amazing ambiance. They have a bar area, accessible by walking through swinging doors, and a separate dining area. The food was well prepared. Staff were friendly and on Friday they had a piano player. This place exudes class. Prices: reasonable for the food they offer, like prime rib or roasted chicken. Parking: they have parking spots on the street. People: leave the kiddos at home. Perks: this is a great place to have a drink or if you're in the mood for something more substantial, like prime rib. Reservations are best on busy nights.

Best Martini bar in LA hands down! I've been coming here off and on since 91 but more regularly since the 2000s. Excellent atmosphere and drinks. Bill is the best barman in town, never a dull moment when he's behind the bar! The prime rib is to die for. Get there early as the bar fills up quickly!
