Incredibly expensive and the food is terrible.The service is horrible, they rush you to eat your food. We were eating and before we were even finished they already gave us our receipt to leave without asking. I don't recommend this place. You're better off going to El torito or a local Mexican restaurant.

I love this place and the employees were all so great and made me feel very welcomed. The the food was amazing to they serve breakfast all day and I was in that kinda mood but my husband ordered the taco's and they were delicious it all was.

This review is late due to medical issues and travelling, but I did not want that to stop me from leaving a wonderful review for this restaurant and their staff. We held our 50th high school reunion dinner for Simi Valley High School Class of 1973 on September 30 2023. The food was great, the service was excellent and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. We had nearly 80 people in attendance and had reserved the outdoor covered patio area. The area is beautiful, especially at night with the twinkling lights, the fountains, the greenery, and the flowers. We received many compliments on the meal and the price was very reasonable. Emma assisted me in planning this event. She was a joy to work with and allowed me to sample the menu items before making our selection. We provided a large sheet cake from Costco and the restaurant provided the cake plates and set up a cake table for us. The staff cut and served the cake. The staff was sensitive to our needs, and checked with me frequently to ensure that all of those needs were met. Our high school reunion was a great success due to the efforts of this restaurant and their staff. I would highly recommend them for any event.

I'm plant-based/vegan and have been going here for awhile but was previously disappointed at the meat/dairy free options (like the tostada). However, that's changed! I've always enjoyed their margaritas. But tonight I tried potato tacos (no cheese) and vegetarian tamales (no cheese) off the happy hour menu and OMG! So yummy! We added a side of beans and rice and got some guac too. The guac was amazing. I love the staff here and the ambiance is great. If you're a sports fan, the TVs are perfect, too. I like the indoor seating for cold nights but in the warmer months the patio is so pretty. They have an in between area that is my favorite area to sit. Part indoor part outdoor. Best of both! (FYI, for my young kids the two potato tacos were more than enough to eat. For my teen, the added beans and rice made the meal a perfect size. We will definitely be back!

Starting on the positives I must say that service is great, I had no problem with the server nor with the ambiance of the restaurant. With that being said the food was definitely not to my liking, i felt that there could have been better options to choose from and with that better prices. But I was willing to pay for a good steak, a new york steak to be specific . I ordered this to go and I should have taken it as a red flag that they didnt ask me how i wanted it done but i thought that the standard was medium rare as thats how its typically served. I ordered my new york steak and got it to go, i was immediately disappointed when I cut into my steak and found it cooked well done, so well done it was dry, really really dry and chewy. Going back wasn't an option for me and i really tried to enjoy my food but the steak being the main focus of my dish made that really hard. Overall it made me 1000% sure that I would sadly never return or recommend them. If you do decide to go and order a new york steak i recommend making sure you state how cooked you want it.

Great food, beautiful place and I love that they played rock en español (not many Mexican restaurants play that nowadays) and the best part was the waiters were so sweet to my mom. I say this because my mom is an extra sweet to just anyone and I get it ppl have long days and don't have the energy to be nice to everyone but oh my gosh ALL the staff were nothing but sweet and kind to us. Loved it!! This is our new usual spot plsss keep playing rock en español !!

Food was good but some items needed to be a little hotter. Loved the fried whole fish. Good service and with a smile eventhough we arrive within an hour of closing time. Chips & salsa were great as well!

Cannot say enough nice things about this place! Emma was wonderful start to finish in planning our event & our servers, Omar & Jose were great! Very helpful, very attentive. They made our experience great! Food was very good as well & we had a great time! I had about 38 people in my party & the price was reasonable. We also had the patio area mostly to ourselves & it was very lovely. All I can say is give them a try! You won't be sorry. The ambience alone is worth it! Had a really nice experience at El Capitan. Went for breakfast for the first time and was surprised to find a nice brunch buffet. Then was further surprised by live Mariachi's. The food was very nice and so was my watermelon

Ordered tacos with carnitas, chicken, and carne asada. The meat tasted off -like it was old and/or cooked in the same oil as fish. The carnitas was completely tasteless. They replaced it with tacos of different meat, and it was also tasteless. I mentioned the issue -not to complain but to possibly prevent people from getting sick. The waiter just said "sorry" and then charged me full price. Full price for something that tasted so off neither myself nor my partner wanted to eat it. The rice was bland as well. My partner's shrimp was good, but it's difficult to mess up tacos that bad and shameful to not at least discount the meal.
