Was introduced to shrimp Diablo here and love it. My kids love their tacos. I'm not normally a burrito fan but finally tried one and was blown away. I've had the fish, asade and breakfast ham/eggs/potatoes. There's something about how they pack it and it stays super hot even after a car ride. And their salsa selection is good. The spicy oily red salsa is killer!

I dont post many reviews but this mom and pop spot deserves recognition. The food is traditional and delicious. This is my go to local spot for breakfast burritos. The pricing is fair as well. Call ahead for take out and you wont be disappointed. Love their salsas too.

I found this place while I was working from home during the pandemic. I was craving tacos, but I wasn't in the mood for street tacos which you can find everywhere these days. I decided to try the Tacos Dorados Combo plate. I chose carne asada as my meat of choices. The plate comes with a side of rice and beans. It was delicious! The tacos were crispy and filled with meat, lettuce, cheese and more....but gobbled it up quickly so I can't remember the rest. I think it also had tomorrow and a light sauce. The rice was light and fluffy and the beans tasted great. I want to try other things on the menu...but I will be getting those tacos again for sure!

Best breakfast burritos by far in Simi! And the staff is so friendly! They also make a great michelada!

My mom just went to this restaurant earlier this morning with her friends. She was served really badly and was not treated the right way of treating customers. She ordered a plate of menudo with extra meat and cow foot. They gave her the most nastiest part of the foot so she kindly asked if there was another piece of the cow foot and the owner from there was in there and he comes up to my mom saying "WE HAVE NO OTHER FOOT MAAM, IF YOU DONT WANT IT THEN I HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO GIVE YOU." my mom respondes kindly saying okay then can you just take it back and bring it back with just the meat and the lady (owners wife) bring her a damn plate with just meat. Like how in the f*** are you supposed to eat that. Like they need better customer service if not just shut the restaurant down. Also, the wife came to pick up the chips off my moms table and she dropped the sauce on the table and my mom kindly tells her she spilt the sauce and the lady (owners wife) aggressively responds saying " just leave it there they will come and clean it up later". My mom just kindly told her about it. no need to have an uglyass attitude. It really pissed me off but why cause a show inside. so ima just leave this here. (If the owner is reading this you need to learn how to RESPECT WOMEN just cause you see them alone doesn't mean you can take advantage. OH and learn to to talk face to face when you know you did wrong don't send out no waitress of yours or your wife. Your a GROWN UP MAN LOL)

We absolutely love El Maizal. They are our home away from home. Owners Hector and Rosie are awesome. Authentic home cooking. Rosie cooks her butt off. On weekends they make homemade Menudo and Birria. Highly recommend.

My family and I paid our first visit here last night (1/26), and we were impressed. Carne Asada Nachos were very good, my shrimp (camarones) with ranchero sauce was fabulous - a well balanced tomato-based sauce swimming among the very fresh shrimp and veggies, great for soaking up the nicely flavored rice as well. My "no food too spicy" daughter enjoyed her Camarones Diablo, and my wife really liked her Tostada salad with carne asada, served in a deep fried tostada bowl. Great order-at-the-counter service, and prices were relatively reasonable. Grab a straw (well, maybe not) for the great creamy avocado salsa that accompanied the complimentary chips. This is a great family run restaurant that deserves your visitation in a time when deserving restaurants appreciate your support.

First time here and based on the reviews I was excited to try. Ordered a fish burrito. Tortilla was delicious as well as the other ingredients. Fish was tender and well seasoned. Mexican rice was great, cooked well, not greasy and well seasoned. Green salsa is bright with a bit of tang. Very delicious. The red salsa is pretty hot, but not hot to the point where you can't enjoy your gods if that makes any sense lol. Overall great experience so far with the fish burrito. I'll be back for sure to order another!

Amazing hidden gem, I usually frequent the popular spots until I discovered this place. Amazing flavors and half the price versus the other spots in simi. This menus is impressive as well. Can't wait to try more off the menu.

Very good chorizo breakfast burrito, al pastor burrito, and micheladas. Call ahead for pickup because of the somewhat small dining space but it's not usually full anyways. Great people behind the counter.
