The wine was delicious and staff were very accommodating. The tasting room is very simple, but a nice focus on history and wine. The price to taste more than fair and have some interesting pinots, with great descriptions. We plan to return during the warmer months to check out their outdoor amenities.

Schug is still family owned and has some of the best wines in the Napa/Sonoma valley, especially their Pinot Noir.

A lovely experience and some of the best reds I’ve had in California. Thanks Bess!

I had guests visiting from out-of-town and decided to try a smaller winery in Sonoma for a change, I was not disappointed. Schug Winery was the perfect place for our group of 4. The views of the Carneros Valley were incredible, the wines remarkable, the venue quite nice. We enjoyed a glass of sparking rose as we were guided around property followed by a private tasting (with charcuterie) inside their vast caves. The attention to detail was noted: a well appointed tasting table were we enjoyed several estate and Carneros Valley varietals, and had hosts Stephen and Bess providing in-depth descriptions of each wine. We never felt rushed.... nothing like previous experiences at larger wineries. We finished our visit by purchasing a case of wine to take home and joining the Schug wine club. We will definitely be back!

Terrible service. I am a member and tried requesting a tasting for weeks but impossible to come into contact with any staff members. Very disappointing. Would not recommend to anyone!

Our host was Rob and he was amazing!! Their wines are excellent! We bought 3/4 bottles and our tasting fees were waived. We will definitely be back!!

Reservations required (we got lucky, first to walk in.). Only came across this winery by chance and were graciously welcomed and accommodated by our wine guide, whose name I didn't catch. She was very charming, attentive and knowledgeable. Will definitely go back again.

We were visiting Sonoma wine country for the first time and picked Schug for tasting because of the German roots of the owners. The tasting costs 35 dollars and if you buy two bottles, they will waive one of the tasting fees. The tasting features 5 wines and it has a good variety of reds, whites and rose. We really enjoyed both, the bubbly and regular Savingnon Blanc and got two bottles to go. Our sommelier was incredible and very helpful throughout our experience.

We went in late September, it was a super warm day out but they had tastings out in the courtyard. The wines were delicious and the staff was super knowledgeable and friendly. They offered cheese plates to pair as well! Will definitely be coming back.

This winery was beautiful and the staff was lovely! Along with detailed explanations of each wine, we got tips on how to navigate the area. Valerie was incredibly helpful and made us feel at home. Each wine was wonderful! We will definitely be coming back to this spot for annual girls trips. They ship to most states, so setting up a long distance membership is easy. Everything about our time at Schug was enjoyable.

We really enjoyed the Schug Vineyard tasting, we got to try a variety of wines from a sparkling Pinot Noir to a Cabernet Sauvignon. They were all so good, and we even ended up purchasing two bottles. The staff were all super friendly and made the tasting very enjoyable.

Such a great winery to stop at! Val was our hostess and made it a wonderful experience. The courtyard was super cute and had a great view. The wine was amazing and fairly priced.

During our stay in California my husband and I had one day to visit Sonoma and were able to pick two wineries tops. We loved the wine (pinot noir's) so much the first time we visited Schug 3 years ago, it was top on the list and they didn't disappoint! The ability to ship 6-11 bottles home for $7 was a benefit since we didn't want to have to fly home with them. They were all so friendly and Rob took great care of us!

We had a lovely wine tasting experience at Schug. We are members and decided to see what's new and have lunch in Sonoma. Our host was Tammi and she was great! Very accommodating. We bought a mixed case and would totally recommend this experience to our friends and family.

We have been an ardent purchaser for over thirty years and is our wine of choice. However, we now live in the deep South and has become extremely hard to find.
