We didn’t realize the pizza place wasn’t open when we got here but Joy was kind enough to welcome us in and make a pizza for us anyways. The pizza is very good, lots of flavor and very fresh, and Joy is such a kind heart to chat with. Definitely recommend this place!

I got the chance to eat this garlic, ranch, chicken and veggie on cauliflower crust pizza tonight at Gold Rush. I must say the cauliflower crust is pretty good! It was flavorful as well. I’m definitely impressed. To top it off they have great prices with staff that care about what you think. I will be bringing my family back very soon.My family had a Hawaiian and a bbq chicken and they enjoyed it too!

I went here for lunch yesterday while doing business in Sonora. I can honestly say I am grateful I did. I had a BBQ chicken pizza and it was delicious with the cheese, bbq sauce, bacon and chicken. They have some other great looking options as well. Staff was super friendly and the guy cooking the pizza was the best. I highly recommend stopping in and giving it a try. I will be back next time I’m in town for sure!!

I am not one that writes a lot of reviews, but this experience was so out of the norm for myself and my family that I feel it is warranted. I apologize in advance for the long review - I want to make sure I cover all the reasons I’m giving them one star.My husband is a big fan of other branches of Gold Rush Pizza in Oakdale and Ripon, so when we saw this restaurant in downtown Sonora, we decided to give it a go.We went for lunch during the middle of the week. There were three things that hit my senses immediately upon walking in:1. It was very cold in the restaurant. It was the beginning of February and I had several layers of clothing on, but I couldn’t stop shivering.2. The television volume was blaring on a Comedy Central show.3. There was a foul odor. The young man that was there told us to seat ourselves. As we navigated the seating area, we noticed there was really only one table to sit at because all the other tables were dirty with food scattered and dirty napkins still on the table from the previous patrons. This was strange to me because the restaurant just opened for the day approximately 30 minutes before our visit, so I suspect those dirty tables were from the day before. We placed our order for two pizzas and three drinks - 2x Pepsi and 1x root beer. He brought us 3x Pepsi. We waited 45 minutes, with no cell service (understandable since it’s an old building) and no Wi-Fi before our first pizza came out. The second pizza was for a vegetarian in our party of three. We had to wait another 15 minutes for his pizza to come out. Traditionally, all meals come out at the same time so some people aren’t eating while the other members of their party have to sit and watch them eat (or conversely, the food gets cold while they’re waiting for everyone’s food to arrive). Finally, the pizza was just terrible. There’s no other word to describe it. I am not picky about my pizza and I was sorely disappointed. It looked and tasted like a cheap frozen pizza. I couldn’t even eat it. The other two people that did eat our pizzas had mild digestive issues for two days following.Bottom line: Atmosphere, cleanliness, service, and quality of food are all lacking at Gold Rush Pizza in Sonora. If you want a good pizza in Tuolumne County, go to Mike’s Pizza not far up the road on Mono Way. Mountain Mike’s and Round Table are better options, as well.

It was cold upon pick up, very low quality ingredients for the price - with several other pizza shops near by I wouldn’t waste time here.

They a had a girls night out on 7/23. This place was absolutely miserable!! it's a 100 out and they had NO A.C!! They didn't serve any food the bar wasn't even a full bar. I was told by the owner "we just bought this place 3 months ago give us time" If you are going to have a event like this you should of had the A.C fixed serve food. I believe this place will not last long especially with the attitude of the owner!

Found this place that said it was open so we Ordered pizza online! Went to pick it up and the place was closed up! Tried to call and only got voice mail!!! Of course I paid online through Yelp/Grubhub!!! Really!!! I guess I won't do that again! Time to go find another place to get pizza!

The owners of this business failed to pay workers for hours they worked. They had one worker on "salary" to avoid paying the worker fairly for the 60-70 hours he put in weekly. Others were paid partial paychecks or not at all. After almost two months they all quit & requested their last paychecks. They were all ignored for over a week. Then, via text, they were told to meet at the business to pick up their pay. The owners asked the workers to return to work & explained that they had no one to run the business. The workers refused to work without pay & asked again for their paychecks. The owners began to become hostile, especially the female. The owners said they would give out the paychecks if the workers would come inside the building, alone. (The workers arrived with witnesses & began the conversation outside the building) The workers refused & the trap had ended when the female owner was yelling at everyone & used her body to bump one of the witnesses. It was clear by that point that these owners do not abide by the rules set by the California labor board, purposely take advantage of naive young adults, make a profit at their cost & when all else fails, resort to intimidation & physical violence. To this day, the 5 teens they hired have never been paid.

This was awful. I felt so bad but I don't think they actually know how to make pizza. Ordered and paid for milkshake and she couldn't figure out how to work the blender. so we told her it was fine. Our pizza was smothered in barbque sause and there was only a couple bits of chz on top of the toppings plus the tables were dirty. There was a dried pasta noodle on the table and a bunch of crumbs. Not to mention freezing air and we were the only ones there.( now I see why). Don't Waste the money.
