I drove all the way from Glendale for the nostalgia of BBQ Duck and they did NOT disappoint! I actually drove down for a different restaurant but they had already closed. Majority of restaurants say they close at 9 when they actually close at 8. Thankfully Sam's answered the phone and was willing to prep the food for me minutes before closing. I will definitely be back! 19$ for half a duck 35$ for full (inflation is crazy because when I was a kid, my grandma would get a whole duck for 18$). So grateful for them to make the trip worth it!

With the intention of going to Ruby's bbq, I noticed a new sign across the street and decided to mix things up by visiting Sam's Chinese BBQ ... and I wish I stuck with my original thought. I ordered the two delicacies rice plate requesting roasted duck and salted chicken, but was offered bbq sausage instead of the chicken. Not sure if they ran out of roasted duck, but what I received were duck scraps and sausage ... the duck was basically a wing drumette chopped to pieces with the upper part full of "glandular tissue." The sausage was okay, but reminded me of a hillshire farms product with some honey glaze. Additionally, I got the chitterlings with pickled mustard greens ... and this one went down like a cinder block in the ocean! What happened to keeping it simple? Oil, garlic, onions, fermented black beans, salt, while pepper, some soy and oyster sauce and pickled mustard ....? Instead I got this hot mess of the chitterlings, mustard, some bell peppers and a whole LOT of sweet and Sapir sauce! As if the duck already didn't place me in a mindset of regret .... This certainly was the last mail driven in that coffin! Don't think this place will see my shadow again. Sorry to say, but there are too many other places in that area for this one to stand a chance.

the cha siu here is always really good. we've been going here for years. I really appreciate that the staff don't make you feel bad for ordering in English.

My go to place when I want some roasted duck or soy sauce chicken for take away. Prices are pretty decent, they are somewhat fast with service. Only one time was the lady busy counting cash from the register but the gentleman came out to take my order. I would highly recommend the roasted duck (I usually only get half), the soy sauce chicken is good if you eat it the same day (after it's been refrigerated it's not as good, roasted duck is still good even after being in the fridge). Good prices, decent service, convenient street parking in front.

They don't speak English. Been there on multiple's occasions. I recommend hiring someone who is bilingual English.

The customer in front of me asked for 1lb of roasted pork but the butcher lady gave him 1.75lb! Then my turn and I asked for a specific cut but she was so bossy wanting to cut her way with burnt pig skin which I hate burnt pig skin. I asked for one pound but tried to upsell me 2 lbs as well. I said no. She got agitated and she cut so sloppy and put in my to go box sloppy and I didn't get the pig skins I wanted. So disappointed! Not coming back her. I would go back across the street at Ruby's BBQ with better selection with no burnt skin and better service.

Went there for some Chinese BBQ. It appears that they used to have sit down dining serving popular Cantonese dishes but stoped during the pandemic. The BBQ was good. Pretty typical. Price was in line. The roast duck was better than the char siu. I found the char siu to be a little bit too salty and hard/dry. Maybe I just had a thin piece so it got over cooked, not sure. I'd come here again, but only if I'm in the area.

Exactly what I was looking for. The BBQ pork and the roasted duck were excellent accompanied with the steamed rice and veggies. Will be getting more when I'm in town from out of state.
