I started going to this David's Pizza on Hammer Ln back in 2015 because my daughter started going to Gym Stars. My kids really loved it there and it started to become tradition where we went to Gym Stars once a week and my girls knew we'd go to David's after. We stopped going to this location after 2020. We then started going to the one in Lincoln Center but occasionally stop by to this location. This past Friday (3/1/24) we decided to stop in. We got there at about 4:40pm. When we walked in, there were staff members switching a baby off in a baby carrier backpack behind the front counter. If health inspectors were there, I feel like this would have been considered unsanitary and a hazard. But as a customer, I just felt the baby was so cute. We waited for the staff members to be done swapping the baby. They then looked at us, then told us to find a seat wherever we'd like. We sat down and waited 20 minutes before our pursed was taken. I felt maybe they were waiting for the time to be up. (Lunch special is from 11am-5pm.) However, we wanted the family special which is what we always order even though it's always more than enough. We always order half red sauce with pepperoni and half white sauce combination (we always pay the extra because the special comes with up to two toppings) and it has never been a problem. However, this time the waitress told me they don't do that. Didn't check with anyone. Didn't ask if it was okay and we pay extra. Just said no. So we ended up ordering just a small pizza for the kids and wings for my teenager. We also ordered chicken and fries for my picky toddler. Upon bringing the food to us, the waitress did not ask if we needed anything. Didn't ask us if we needed Parmesan, peppers or extra ranch on the side. She simply brought the food to the table and walked away. We did notice that there were guests in the establishment that she knew personally and saw that she is very capable of being friendly and kind as she was to them. She brought their food to their table with a smile and conversed with them. Checked with them to see if everything was okay. Not with us. When we were finished, we waited for another 20-30mins for her to notice. She didn't ask if everything was okay. If we needed anything else. She simply asked if we needed a box. Not in a polite manner either. She brought the boxes back with the receipt. Didn't tell us where to pay. Didn't ask us anything about the visit. We took our tab and paid up front. We noticed the waitress watching us as we walked up front. Finally noticing us. We usually clean up after ourselves as best we can when eating out and leaving a tip. But this time the trip was so horrible, we left everything as is. My teenage daughter is usually really helpful with trying to tidy up before leaving but she was the one who wanted to leave the mess. She is not very picky on service. As teenager, she is acceptable to the basic treatment. But this time she was angry and wanted so bad to speak to someone. We all left upset. We paid nearly $50 for a meal to get treated so rudely. It makes me upset because my kids really enjoy the food and the time spent at David's Pizza. Unfortunately this past experience made us all not want to return. We will try again at the one in Lincoln Center. But as of now, we will be taking a break.

I waited 30 minutes for an order I paid for just for them to tell me 35 more minutes. Too much socializing and not enough working. How hard is it to make a pizza???

Great local business and owner! I had always loved eating at David’s regardless, however I recently had the opportunity to work with David directly on some scuba diving classes he was interested in. He is a kind, stand up guy. I’ll continue eating at his establishments, plus the food is great!
David's Pizza been around a long time the last time I ordered pizza it wasn't good enough for the price of pizza theses days I would expect perfect pizza, No quality and the the people who work are not customer friendly , I don't plan on Doing business with this place again!

been going here since I was a kid and everything has been fine till I finished my order at this moment. I saw recent reviews of a certain staff being rude and can't say they are wrong, got snippy when I asked to make sure she got "light in the sauce" instead of white and didn't let me finish my order and hung up on me. not at all the usual polite and positive spin I've come to know from their staff.
