I was in town and decided to try Kyodai again. I put in a pick up order from DoorDash. After almost 1 hr I tried the door and no one was inside. The phone was disconnected. It wasn't until then that I finally saw the reviews saying this on the app (it was not showing when I checked online before ordering). Yelp please mark this restaurant as closed.

This place is very overhyped. The food is decent however very pricey. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The food is presented in a fancy way however the taste is very bland.

First time trying kyodai Wow the nigiri sake and blue fin was 10/10 it was soon good !! The rolls were good but the star of the shoe were definitely the nigiris . The sashimi was delicious too thank you chef !!

Horrible service. Came to eat at 4 as that's when they say they open and multiple employees ignored us and did not tell us any information. One just looked at us, looked the other way and shook his head. Would never come back here again!

Recently moved to the area, thought to see if Kyodai had decent sushi. It certainly looks fancy enough! Sad to report the nearby Safeway grocery has better at their sushi counter in the deli. The price was far too high for such low quality sushi. $50+ for 2 Cali rolls, 8 pieces total of Nigiri, and the natural flavors were missing - as though the fish waited and the cream cheese/avocado reigned.

First time eating here, food sucked, service was even worse, if I could buy back my time I would. It took one hour for them to take my order and then another hour to bring half of my order. Got so tired of waiting decided to just pay and leave without receiving the rest of my order, mind you place only had 4 seated tables Max. If I can leave a negative review I would. Don't bother wasting your time or money go to bjs across or Panda Express instead or just have a cup of cereal you'll thank me later!! But if you're looking for real sushi where the price matches the taste AND service go to raw sushi bistro in Modesto 10/10 ur welcome to whoever goes.

I've come 3 different times to try to dine in at Kyodai and they say that they are not open and they are opening later on in the day! Maybe you should update your hours, wasting people's time to drive to the restaurant and then I called and they said they were open!

I went last Thursday, April 14th it happened to be next to one of my specialty fish taco restaurant Rubio's. Being my first time I asked the waitress what she recommends. I did tell her I liked something fried. The staff was friendly. I ordered K2 and fried caterpillar to go. It was not as good as I anticipated. Too much batter and cream cheese. I didn't really enjoy the other ingredients in the sushi items I ordered. I can come back to try the other items on their menu. I give the friendliness/ customer service 4 stars, but 3 stars for the two food items mentioned above.

Didn't even stay to have dinner which is a shame because I was really looking forward to trying this place out...after waiting to be greeted we were then approached by one of the servers who asked if we were there for pick up. When we stated no she made it very apparent that she was annoyed we were there to dine in. She gave us a wait time of 30 min and never took down our information or name on a wait list..needless to say I won't be making my way back anytime soon

If I could have had a cocktail or Japanese beer, I would have given 5 stars! As I thought things were going down hill because of the drink menu, it went quite the opposite! I am allergic to red shelled fish and some places are a little less open for substitutions. Not here, Chef Sato was AMAZING. The poke 3 ways was so beautiful and delicious. A shame to eat something so pretty... My husband and I told him our favorite ingredients in a roll and asked him to surprise us! He did exactly that! 2 beautifully presented, deliciously created rolls. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture (my bad, we were hungry). Again, almost to decorative to eat! But we did and the flavors matched their beauty. Thanks again chef Sato. And thanks to our servers. Great date night!

They ripped us off and knew it too cause when we called the waitstaff out on the overpriced item the person knew exactly which item we were going to mention before we did. Better always double check your checks with this place, they double dipping on their customers and serving refrigerated fish in their tuna tacos too we think...
