Normally we have excellent meals at Mezzo, but today was off. Our hostess greeted us promptly; we know her, pleasant and efficient. We were seated in a small area at the back of the indoor restaurant. Something about the design of this spot amplifies noise and echoing, and the nonstop chatterbox right next to us didn't help (though that's not the restaurant's fault). Never again. We were given menus and received water quickly, but it was almost ten minutes before we were greeted by a very unenthusiastic server. Sometimes people are not having great days, that's okay. She asked us if we were ready to order, at which point I said “we're ready to order drinks.” She took a wine order (having some difficulty with her tablet order entry) and also asked for our food order. We inquired about the specials. She did not know and left to find out. She returned and told us the specials, but could not answer any questions about them, because she had not tried any of them herself. We placed our order. She returns a couple of minutes later and asked to confirm our drink and food order, again seeming to struggle with the tablet. We confirmed my wife's order of the corned beef/cabbage ravioli and mine of the rigatoni bolognese. The good news was that, even though our server seemed uncertain about the wine, we could see the bartender retrieve the correct bottle. Eventually, our food was delivered. The ravioli looked and tasted great. Unfortunately, I was not served a rigatoni bolognese but what looked like carbonara, not what I ordered. That was rectified within about ten minutes. My wife is Italian and she spoils me with bolognese that has been cooked all day. Bolognese is not simply meat in a thin tomato sauce. While this was tasty, it wasn't bolognese. We've eaten at Mezzo several times. We enjoy its ambience and menu. But this is the first time we would call it lackluster. Not bad, just not what we normally expect.

Food was excellent! I had the chicken vegetable soup and salmon on the mista salad. My husband had the halibut and it was moist, not overdone. Fresh and flavorful. Service was also great. Thank you.

I love the changing menu and specials at Mezzo. I had the duck confit ravioli with citrus notes and it was delicious! Our waiter TJ had a great personality and that, along with the food provided us with an excellent dining experience. Circle claps to the team at Mezzo!

Always a fantastic dining experience at Mezzo!! JT is the best and Always makes our visit the best!! I love the seasonal changing menu and in house made pasta!! We always look forward to the specials!!

Server was inexperienced and scattered. She was Not sure if we were her table or not. She was very friendly but frustrating asking for the things that were repeatedly forgotten. Kitchen out of several things on the menu on a Saturday night. Not aware they were out until we already made our selections. Scallops overcooked and tough server described special as scallops with crab risotto what came was a type of rice medley that the earthly flavors did not allow any crab flavors to come through. I am not sure if this rice was supposed to be firm and somewhat crunchy or if it was undercooked. Great cocktails we have been here several times great 2 times but never know what it will be.

My wife and I both ordered the Halibut special. The fish was overcooked and dry. I probably should have had some sort of sauce. The bed of wild rice with crab had no crab in it. The cocktails were nice but even when we shared a dessert which was a cheesecake, the crust was overcooked. The waiter was very attentive and engaging and made every attempt to cover for the mediocre food. He did say "well last night was Valentines Day and so busy we are sold out of some items". After having actually worked in the business I don't feel that should be an excuse for house. We have eaten at this establishment probably 4 times in the last six month and generally food is much better so disappointed

Valentines prix fixe menu was delicious as expected. They make a great use of the space. Each dining option, inside, outside or at the bar, offers a unique ambiance. Dinner for two at the bar feels remarkably intimate. There are a variety of table arrangements for small or larger parties in the dining room. If you are sensitive to sound levels, the patio seating area allows typical dining noises to dissipate. Mezzo serves consistent quality.

Valentine's Day dinner was extremely disappointing. We sat outdoors and the ambiance was beautiful/romantic. Yet, service was awful. There seemed to have been only two servers on the floor for both outside and inside, which made ours inattentive. First off, we had a waitress whom was really nice from the start, but we could see that she was incredibly in the weeds towards the end and no manager on the floor to help. Maybe hire more people? We were never asked how our food was and we sat with empty cocktail glasses for a good 30 minutes. The food was mediocre for being $55 per person. Ordered med well steak, but came more rare. Halibut was dry. Dessert was stale and salty. Only good thing about this experience was the focaccia bread.

I've written reviews for Mezzo before and, as I've said in the past, this is a fantastic place to spend some quality time. In this case, it was Valentines day and my wife and I spent a wonderfully quiet lunch here. Food was fantastic, service outstanding and it was just an overall great time! Highly recommend for any occasion!

Server was attentive and helpful. The rigatoni carbonara was just delicious: creamy, but not heavy or rich; and best of all, no Italian sausage! Hope it's still on the menu the next time I come.

Had the Mezzo burger with clam chowder, both delicious, took home half my burger and it was yummy the next day. I will be back.

My boyfriend and I met and had our first date here a year ago. We returned for our anniversary and the experience almost ruined our night. Restaurant was at less than 1/2 capacity and we were sat at one of the worst tables even when we had a reservation and he had told them we were celebrating. We asked to move and after we did we were ignored by staff. After struggling to find something we wanted on the menu we finally ordered and both meals did not taste as expected. Meat was not seasoned well and tasted freezer burnt. When asked about the food, he gave honest feedback and we were met with uncomfortable amounts of defensiveness about the food— as shown in responses to honest reviews. Mezzos did comp his meal and gifted us a dessert. We ended up paying and leaving to a different restaurant in town to help salvage the evening. We will not be returning. Inauthentic Cuisine, poor service, nearly inedible food.

Mezzo is a great little spot to hold 1:1 colleagues and client meetings; the food is usually pretty quick, tastes great, and has an uncomplicated menu for diverse palates, making it ideal for almost anyone. I love their salads, and I just tried the eggplant parmesan sandwich. It was nice, but their salads were balanced and had fresh ingredients with just the right amount of dressing!
