The hotel really shows its age and could use a refresh. I can deal with that as it was one night. What really got me was the service from the night clerk. We are Ambassadors. There is no lounge in this hotel so we asked what the hotel does for Ambassadors. Nothing apparently. We come up here a lot because our daughter goes to school at U o P. This place is on a sad slide downwards. Checked in and out room has a TV the size of a computer monitor. If that wasn’t bad enough it had interference so bad it was unwatchable. After an 8 hour drive we had decided we’d just stay in so TV was our entertainment for the night. Comfortable, relatively clean, adequate room for a quick stop driving up the coast along I5. I was delivering Hovercraft down to Newport Beach and found this hotel had adequate parking for a large towed vessel. The front desk was helpful in the bathrooms were in acceptable condition - no surprises here!
