I hadn't been to Art's Delicatessen in way too long. Not wanting any more time to pass, I decided that today was the day to return. My only regret is that I'd been away way so long because Art's did not disappoint, and I missed out on this delicious food for too many years. It was as delicious as ever, and our waitress, Monica made our visit very, very special. Monica is a treasure and reflects the heart of this restaurant. Thank you so much, Monica! We will be back soon!

I can't say that there was anything wrong, with the food, but $38 for a sandwich and then an additional $2.50 to "upgrade" to French Fries on the side is exact;y what it cost but then add tax and of course the 20% tip (not the servers fault) cost out the door for the sandwich? OVER $50!

As a Jew who grew up in a Jewish area, my ancestors would be turning in their graves if they knew this place was charging $25+ for an average pastrami sandwich. Pretty much everything sat around that price mark. Half orders of items were only one dollar less than the full options. Nothing special of a place with smile-less and tired staff. Found out it's the son of the original owner just taking advantage of an area with more money to waste than others. I'll only be returning if my Jewish relatives come to town, so they can 'oy vey' the prices and hastily leave.

Just a TAD expensive ($56 for smoked fish platter!??) but everything is good. I had blueberry pancakes last time - best I've ever tasted! Recommend!

The prices seem so random and outrageous. Turkey is $35 pound and I was charged $16 for two small blitzes to go. The ambience is dank but fine.

A staple to the community that has always met expectations when it comes to the food. A go-to for takeout and holiday orders.

Ordered one of their $30 sandwiches to go and asked to sub the fries for potato salad and was given a sample sized portion of potato salad. Ketchup packet for scale. If I ordered the fries would I have received a 3-4 fries?

I must admit, initially I was taken aback at the prices on the menu. Some sandwiches are $36! However, the pastrami dip is some of the best pastrami I’ve had. Well worth the price in my opinion. Classic and simple deli food done extremely well. The knishes are to die for, especially the potato one. This place oozes that old school vibe (perfect for the gram!) The service was fast and friendly and place was clean and comfy. They also have a relatively large variety in their desert case. The brownies were great!

Legendary Studio City spot with an unbelievable Ruben. The vast menu has everything you'd imagine, but there are only a handful of standouts that make coming here (and the steep prices) worth it. My favorite is the Ruben- which you can order with 1/2 the meat if you're looking for a more manageable portion for one. Staff is a bit slow, but very sweet. You can ask to try a small piece of each deli meat if you can't decide (brisket, turkey, roast beef, corned beef, etc). All things considered, this place could use a bit of a facelift, but it certainly has that old style charm.

A solid deli. I enjoyed the "pancake" corned beef hash. I asked for extra crispy and it was perfect! I had it with crispy hash browns and poached eggs. What a treat! The eggs had zero water in the dish, which I appreciated. I prefer a bagel with more crust and chew. But my everything bagel did have a good amount of "everything ". My other had the chicken soup with matzo ball and loved it, along with his generous half chopped liver sandwich. The fried matzo was good, but came to the table no longer warm. Great place for drli breakfast or lunch!

It's been a while, but since I was in the area, thought this would be a great spot to catch something to eat. I ordered the light pastrami sandwich with potato salad. Light was $22 vs $25 for non-light. The pastrami meat was tender and delicious. The rye bread was soft and fresh. The potato salad was good, too. Service was pretty good. I got multiple refills on my cup of $5 coffee. I often pay less than that for a latte elsewhere. You pay up front at the counter. Dang, the bill was high for a deli sandwich, side salad, and cup of coffee. It wasn't until after tax and tip that I realized why the place wasn't busy.

I was at home with a cold and decided I needed some chicken soup. I ordered chicken/rice soup. The broth was delivered plain and the chicken carrots and rice were all in separate containers. Except I didn't get the rice I ordered with it, I got noodles. The carrots looked like frozen carrots that had been boiled with no seasoning and were mushy. The broth tasted like it was made with bouillon. It just wasn't good. It wasn't the comfort food I needed and it was way overpriced for what I got.

Art's Delicatessen is one of those restaurants that has been around forever. It is really one of those very establishing spots on Ventura Boulevard. This is a fairly large restaurant. It's mostly made up of booths, and they have some outdoor tables along the sidewalk if that's your desire. The food here is, as you would expect, deli, orientated cuisine. The main thing to say about this restaurant is the food here is very good. They have a wide selection of deli orientated dishes, and they are all well prepared, with great ingredients, and have an excellent taste. They also have the deli counter in the front. Here, you can get those deli orientated items that you desire to take home. The one thing I will say about the dining experience here is, if you're concerned about price, this restaurant probably isn't for you. The prices here tend to be on the high side. For example, currently, if you want to grab a pastrami sandwich, it's gonna cost about twenty-five bucks. This being said, again, the food is very good. So, if price is not your concern, it's a great place to grab your meal. Overall, if you're in Studio City, on Ventura Boulevard, and you want to grab a bite eat, this may be the place for you.

The corned beef was basically fat. The potato salad was basically mayonnaise, and the onion rings were pretty greasy! The service was fine but there wasn't anyone else in the restaurant. The Ambiance was fine, so if you want a glass of water while you're waiting for the traffic on Ventura Boulevard to let up, knock yourself out! I give it 1 star review for a clean bathroom and a nice waitress!

One of the last surviving old school LA deli restaurants, always good for a bowl of matzo ball soup, a pastrami on rye and a black and white cookie.
