To Whom It May Concern at McConnell’s,I ventured into your esteemed establishment with a singular craving – the Brownie Sundae, specifically lauded for its warm brownie heart. Imagine my anticipation, the crescendo of a symphonic wait, only to be met with a brownie that, I surmise, had been on a sabbatical from warmth since the dawn of time.Upon querying your ice cream artisan – a term I use with the heaviest of quotations – regarding this chilly oversight, I was met with a tale. A tale of a brownie, fresh from the oven’s embrace, so warm, so ready, that it could only exist in the realm of fiction. The reality, as my taste buds can attest, was a narrative of neglect. This led to a moment so awkward, it could’ve been a scene straight out of my daily misadventures. A moment where the societal contract dictates I smile, nod, and accept this chilly brownie facade rather than stand my ground over the temperature of a dessert. A moment where the balance of the universe hinged on whether I could stomach this cold-hearted confection without complaint. It wasn’t just the brownie that was left in the cold; it was customer service, the art of dessert preparation, and the very essence of the Brownie Sundae promise.I’m not one to raise a fuss. Life’s too short, and certainly too amusing, to get hung up on every little misstep. However, when an employee opts for the path of least resistance, crafting a narrative rather than a dessert that matches the menu’s promise, it’s a step too far into the realm of the absurd.I don’t seek retribution, nor do I wish for a public flogging in the town square. All I ask is for a bit of honesty. If the brownie’s cold, let’s just say it’s cold. We can share a laugh, acknowledge our shared humanity, and move on. Perhaps, even consider warming it up a bit next time?In a world of complexities, let’s not let the temperature of a brownie become a point of contention, but rather a simple truth we can all agree upon.Warmest regards (something your brownie could learn from)

Same pint of ice cream that costs $7.99 at the nearby Whole Foods here is $14.99. Only in CA. Two stars because Brasil Coffee flavor is delicious. Otherwise it would've been one star coz it is way too expensive.Parking: Very difficult to find available parking spot in the street.

Ice cream is creamy and good, have it after pizza!! When I went the staff let me try as much ice cream as I wanted since all the flavors sounded so good. It's nice inside with some seating and the outside store front also has a ledge you can sit at if it too busy inside.

McConnells just makes me so happy! The creaminess of the ice cream makes me smile with every bite. Mint chip is a must! And for non dairy folks the non dairy cookies and cream is delicious. There's no picture bc that's how quickly I dug into the ice cream lol.

Even though I swore off dessert for 2024, I took my wife for an ice cream date to end our busy week. I could not think of a better place for us to go than McConnell's. They're based in Santa Barbara but we thankfully have this location closer to us here in Studio City. I love that they have so many unique flavors and that you can choose up to two for a single scoop. Having the option to get two flavors is much appreciated! I combined churros con leche with sea salt cream & cookies and my sweet tooth was so grateful. If there's no where to sit inside, you can also sit out front and enjoy your ice cream unbothered. This is a great place to have in the neighborhood when you just want a little treat or want to try some quality ice cream.

I am an ice cream lover and my favorite flavor is salted caramel. So I was walking by and stopped to try them. Not very exciting to be honest. Not a long line and pricing was same as everywhere else. But that flavor was not satisfying to me! Great neighborhood though.

You're never going to be disappointed with this Santa Barbara founded company. Some of my favorite ice cream in California. Delicious flavors, some with enough of a twist to make some of your go-to classics fresh and new. The interior looks like an old school ice cream parlor with red, white, and wood theming throughout. Super clean and bright. We went right at opening as we were strolling in the area and we got our ice cream right away by the girl behind the counter. I opted for the "Single", which gives you the option of one or two scoops. I got Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate, and Sea Salt Cream and Cookies - SO good. The flavors are perfectly indulgent and you'll be scraping the cup or happily finishing your waffle cone. TIPS: street parking only. Ask to test flavors if you're not sure. And once you find the flavor you love, check the freezer next to the checkout to see if they have a pint you can purchase to take home with you!

Cute ice cream spot on Ventura Place! Perfect post brunch or just for a treat. Loved the fact that you could get two flavors.

This place is amazing. So delicious we can't wait to go back. I came here with my family of five and we all tried different varieties. I loved the tea and shortbread so good. My family loved the strawberry chocolate and the date shake. Everyone was happy with their selections. They served us really promptly and had recyclable spoons. The ice cream was just perfectly frozen. Next time I'm hoping to try the Marion berry and lemon I believe it's called. We will be back.

Cookie Sandwich So last night I went to McConnell's to try their ice cream Sammie. Seeing it on the menu last time I was there it looked good and I love those Nestle cookie ice cream sandwiches. I ordered the Sammie with cookies and cream ice cream. The guy grabs the rock hard cookies from a bowl behind the counter and slaps it together and hands me it in a bowl. The cookies were so hard that I could not bite the Sammie without the ice cream squeezing out the sides. I could not bite it at all. The cookies were rock hard. I even tried to break apart the cookies with the wooden spoon I was given and that was a no go. I just ended up biting a piece of a cookie and then a bite of ice cream. In the end it was just cookies & cream ice cream with a rock hard cookie in a bowl. Looked nothing like the picture on the menu.

I came to Ventura on the bus number 16 from Ojai, I decided to stop in for ice cream at McCnnells ice cream shop. I got one scoop of their coffee ice cream and I am picky about my coffee ice cream none the less I took one bite then another and honesty felt like a child again enjoying ice cream for the first time. I have gone through radiation on my throat which messed up my taste buds I know good ice cream when ii have it. Good place too good. Recommend to all. ???
