The only reason they receive a 2 is because I hate the fact that they hire a host and a Sushi chef who doesn't speak English! Otherwise, the food is good and the environment is pleasant.

Great hand rolls. Ambiance was very chill and loved the bar in a circle instead of straight across

Sweet and peaceful neighborhood spot. I went for lunch today and the handrolls were all delicious! The service was great too. I look forward to many returns.

Stopped by this location with a friend on Friday night & was seated immediately. This location is seriously a hidden gem as there wasn't much of a crowd. The hand rolls were good portion size and they offered various rolls along with appetizers. The food was amazing. Highly recommend the H.Y.E roll. You can't go wrong.

This place is absolutely amazing. Super clean. Super high-quality SUSHI. The rolls are absolutely delicious. This is my regular stop in Studio City.

Cute little spot on the Tujunga strip. Only has about 20 seats in a circular bar. They don't take reservations and there could be a wait if you come during dinner time. We tried a lot of their hand rolls but the speciality ones with truffle was the best. Also their spicy tuna roll was great! The seaweed salad was good but warning that it is a tiny little portion of 2 bites. I love that the rice they use is slightly warm. Some people may not like that but I quite enjoyed it because I love my food warm! I will definitely return :)

Came here months ago. Got sick from the food I had there so I had to goto a doctor. I reached out with a email for compensation or form of refund and was never even replied too. Still months past and nothing.

Honestly, this place was love at first sight for me. From the design, concept, to the music and ambiance, the sushi is just the icing on the cake for me. I also love everyone here; from the wonderfully friendly staff to the Chef who just makes magic one plate of hand roll at a time. In theory, you could say that there is a boring sushi restaurant on every corner in the valley, but who really cares when you can have an experience at a very similar price point. I usually come here once in a while discreetly for lunch, disconnect myself from the regular workload, and enjoy my alone time with a couple of beautiful handrolls with warm rice, wrapped with fresh crisp seaweed that has just the perfect crunch with every bite.

Amazing food. Very creative handrolls. Definitely a good alternative to hand roll bar. Service is also excellent.

It's a cool concept but felt like the seaweed they use and the temperature of the rice is not what I was hoping for as a hand roll bar experience. Also, maybe I came an on off day but felt like the quality of the fish was mediocre. Tried the salmon, yellowtail and the meiji mushroom and was not impressed. The concept is good but while intrigued by other reviews it just fell short for me.

I would like to start by saying I'm a sugarfish girlie but have been eyeballing Seabutter for a while. Tonight I took the risk and am so glad I did! These rolls and seaweed salad were soooo good! The quality of the fish was excellent. One thing that I absolutely loved is the handwritten note in my to go order. So f'ing cute and needed. Love you Seabutter! Can't wait to dine in!

The food here is delicious. Accidently came across this little gem while all other sushi restaurants were closed after noon. So glad because my sister and I found another great spot for our lunch dates. The only reason for the 4 stars is the employee who was making our sushi didn't speak English and it wasn't very nice to ask a question about the sushi and be ignored. Regardless of that, I'd be back cause the food was good!

The food is clean, the service is great, the ambiance is warm. It's a perfect place for a small group or larger party but for sure more intimate.

Believe it or not, the best sushi restaurants aren't all on sushi row along Ventura Blvd. If you're looking for quality hand rolls, I highly recommend to try The Bar by Seabutter. This restaurant is located inside a shopping plaza here in Studio City on Moorpark/Tujunga. There is plenty of free parking and because they just opened this past Summer, it's still a hidden gem...for now. When my wife and I recently went, it was not busy and we were seated immediately. The decor of the restaurant is minimal yet beautiful, there are about 20 seats inside a dome with the chefs making fresh sushi right in the center. You can choose the option of a set menu but you have to splurge and try one (or two) of their original hand rolls. The H.Y.E is minced yellowtail belly with truffle and sea salt. However the main event was of course the toro-uni. This hand roll melts in your mouth and reminded me why sushi is my comfort food.

Finally got to stop by this place and I am so sad it took me this long because it was so good! The freshness of their dishes is unmatched. Every bite that I had was incredible. I will definitely be back. The only thing I didn't care for was the truffle salmon. It lacked a bit of depth and seasoning the other dishes had. The amberjack was my favorite! I also like that they have a veggie menu. The inside is beautiful as well. The woodwork was well done. And the staff friendly. Recommend!
