We love this place, couple family occasions we celebrated there. Unfortunately one thing that did not change, no matter if you walk in or have a reservation - you still might wait for about 15min (if a party bigger then 3 people). Food is awesome, especially cherry rice and lamb.Kid-friendliness: They are fine if you come with kids, they have chairs for babies, unfortunately no kids menu or any kids distractions (like crayons and etc), they have kids cups for water or juiceWheelchair accessibility: No stairs, easy access, one level.

This place was fantastic. The decor was superb, genuine stamped table cloths, Shahnameh Tahmasp prints and 'Mess-Kari' art (etchings on copper) as well as paintings of various Iranian landscape and sites of Heritage. It was well put together. The menu was also perfect, offering all of the staples of Persian cuisine along with some 'Shomali' dishes (from the north). We spoke to the owner and they have been 3 generations of owners of this place since 1979! True OGs of the Iranian-American community.I highly enjoyed dinning here, would recommend.

This restaurant has a lot of beautiful Persian charm from the decor to the lighting to the music and of course, the food. The portion sizes are generous and the food is great. While the wait staff is polite and professional, it does take a while to be seated, place the order and finally get the food to the table. We had to ask for water to be refilled multiple times but we'll chalk that up to them having a busy night.Tldr - food is great, but the service can be slow.

The food quality is excellent, but we were dissatisfied with the service. They repeatedly charged us for unnecessary extras, such as an additional cup for the same teapot or for bread and butter that used to be complimentary. Additionally, they hurried us through our main meal while we were still enjoying our appetizers.

Chelokababi is the best Persian restaurant in the Bay Area!!!I have tried almost all the Persian restaurants and this place is the truest and most authentic! The staff is attentive and friendly! All the servers check on all the tables, I never feel like I am waiting if I need something. Their hime made Saffron Tea is delicious! The food is incredible and the ambiance is beautiful! I highly recommend this spot if you are wanting authentic Persian food and feels!

Past experiences have been very good on food and value. Service has always been sporadic. This visit, food was cold and not typical for their kebabs. Service was worst. Food was served before appetizer, and all of that before drink. Completely reversed.

Food was amazing. Was there with a group from work, so was able to try multiple dishes. Everything was really good and flavorful. Even the salad was amazing.

Nestled in a charming location, the restaurant boasts artistic decor inspired by the Middle East, setting the stage for a memorable evening. One of the highlights of our visit was undoubtedly the flavorful cuisine. The halal meat, in particular, was cooked to perfection, and the portions were generous, ensuring that every craving was satisfied. While the ambiance and cuisine certainly impressed, there were a few minor drawbacks to our experience. The fresh cucumber drink, while refreshing in theory, didn't quite hit the mark for us. Additionally, we couldn't help but feel that the service was a bit rushed towards the end of the evening, possibly due to the impending closing time of the kitchen.Overall, the restaurant offers a decent dining experience, perfect for a romantic night out or a special occasion. With its charming ambiance, flavorful cuisine, and dedication to halal offerings, it's certainly worth a visit.

I had a wonderful time at the restaurant.Chelokababi was really busy but the staff was very accommodating. It was Valentine's Day! The food was delicious and we tried different dishes and appetizers. All the ingredients of a dishes seemed fresh. I definitely will be back again. We used to just order the saffron rice and now I have so many dishes to order to bring home for takeout. You will not be disappointed and you will be very satisfied with the experience. What a wonderful time I had.

Staff is super friendly and very pleasing. There are service points that can be trained or added to take this to next level. I went two nights back to back first night appetizer was confused with another item and second night we ordered dark meat chicken but was breast of chicken. Appetizers are expensive for the size served - again if they can fine tune will help bring pricing, authenticity and service levels up.

Got takeout from this place a couple of days ago and was unfortunately disappointed. We got 3 chicken and a fish kebab and although they were seasoned well, all of them were really very dry and tough. Shame, since the salad and rice that came with it were quite good.Maybe it was a one-off but I'm hesitant to return.
