Ordered takeout so review is on food quality only. I ordered the green goddess salad with extra nuggets on the side. Loved that I could order 4 nuggets which was the right amount to add. Overall the food was really filling and I liked having the chicken in the salad and separate. The bad was the chicken. I had heard amazing things about their chicken but it really disappointed. The chicken was dry and the batter was pretty thick and not tasty. Without any sauce it was bad. The truffle aioli redeemed the chicken a little but not enough.

I was very impressed with my first Starbird chicken experience! It has intrigued me since I laid eyes on the location at SFO terminal 1. I finally got to try it for work and apparently it's a bigger chain restaurant. I ordered my food through the online ordering website which was user friendly. There are pictures of all the foods with a proper description of each food. They even let you choose sides and substitute the sauces if you want. The menu ranges from tenders, nuggets, salads and wings. I ended up ordering the Nashville hot tender box that included fries and slaw. You could upgrade the regular fries to truffle cheese I think, and sub out the slaw. The Nashville dry seasoning ended up being really good! It had a mild lemony-tangy taste that I liked. Reminded me of flaming limon hot Cheetos LOL. My coworker didn't like the tangy taste so probably don't order this flavor if you don't too. The Greek yogurt ranch was a nice dip for my chicken tenders. The tenders themselves are substantial and do not taste dry at all. We also ordered the banh mi fries and they were flavored nothing like banh mi. It just had some "asian" sauces and green onion toppings. Probably won't get that next time.

This Starbird Chicken is a standalone shop on a busy street and it seems to be a smaller location compared to the other ones I had been to. They do have a small private parking lot though, so it is convenient. I came on a weekday afternoon, so there was plenty of parking. The employees were friendly and helpful as well. I came here to try their new Banh Mi lineup. I tried their Banh Mi Sandwich, Banh Mi Chicken Salad, Loaded Banh Mi Tender Box, Sweet & Sticky Vietnamese Wings, and Loaded Banh Mi Fries. For drinks, I got their Pineapple Lemonade and Thai Iced Tea. These new Banh Mi items were delicious with a lot of flavor. My favorites were definitely the Sweet & Sticky Vietnamese Wings, Loaded Banh Mi Fries, and Thai Tea. The Banh Mi Sandwich consisted of crispy chicken, Sriracha aioli, classic slaw, cucumber, jalapeño, pickled carrots and daikon, hoisin aioli, and Asian herb mix. The Banh Mi Chicken Salad consisted of crispy hoisin glazed chicken, romaine cabbage blend, cucumber, pickled carrots and daikon, jalapeño, crispy rice noodles, crispy shallots, Asian herb mix, and sweet chili vinaigrette. The Loaded Banh Mi Tender Box consisted of 3 crispy tenders, hoisin & Sriracha aioli drizzle, Asian herb mix, and crispy shallots. Started out loving Starbird, but over time they have just gone downhill. First they got rid of the tacos. Then the sandwich size got cut in half (for the same price, mind you). Then they stopped putting pimento cheese on the Nashville Hot fries and at that point I had to call it quits. What an absolute death spiral of cost cutting. To top it all off, you have to place the order yourself on a kiosk screen (nobody acknowledges you when you arrive or makes an effort to man the register) and THEY STILL HAVE AUDACITY TO ASK YOU FOR A TIP. Wild. Good luck Starboard, it was good while it lasted.
love this place. i've tried all the salads and my favorite is probably the green goddess cobb or thai chicken salad. their truffle fries are a must have side and are always well seasoned. you can order on those self service kiosks too which is always nice. location is clean and in a nice plaza with ample parking. definitely recommend to everyone!

The food took a while to come out even though it seemed like not too many people were there (big orders ahead of us for catering). They apologized for the delay though. I tried the new banh mi sandwich and while the flavors were good I felt it was too saucy. Next time I'll get sauces on the side. We also tried the big star, Nashville sandwiches, and kid tenders. The kids were excited they got a drink. I liked that they had healthier options like mango sparkling water. The fries were a bit saltier than I'd like so I had to flick some off each one. It's nice that you can order ahead if you want and that they'll text/put up your order on the board when it's ready. A little pricy for fast food-ish chicken sandwiches but it is the Bay Area.

I always order the Thai Chicken Salad and House Fries with Truffle Aioli sauce! It's so delicious and perfect for splitting this meal into two portions.FOOD [5/5]----------------+ Thai Chicken Salad [5/5]Comes with two sauces, some sort of spicy red sauce & a thick creamy sauce. They are both equally delicious! The salad comes with a great portion of greens and chicken. The chicken is always cooked really well -- crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside.+ House Fries [5/5]The fries themselves are pretty good quality but the SAUCE!! Amazing! It's super delicious and doesn't have an overwhelming truffle flavor.

Quick, fast food focused on fried chicken. I've picked up food for take out, eaten here and ordered delivery. My recommendation is to pick up or eat here if you have time. The fried chicken is best hot. I love the fries and always get a second order to share with my roommate! I've enjoyed the Cobb , the tenders box, and of course the fries!
