Decent fast food restaurant. Usually get the impossible burger. I like the tech based ordering system, but you cannot get an impossible burger as a meal. You will need to order a side and drink separately. For most other burgers, the meal is an option.Love the pepper buffet. Helps spice up the meal. It would be nice to get something other than ranch sauce with onion rings. If you like ranch, it probably isn't an issue. Pretty typical fast food restaurant atmosphere.

I came trying to see what the hype is all about but it was not even good. The bun broke apart and theres nothing unique about the taste or what their char is suppose to in char burger is suppose to represent. Won't be back or recommend.

The service here in the evenings is fantastic and this location is so incredibly clean! Really appreciate the staff and, honestly, the burgers here are just really good.

This is a nice Habit. The patties are really good compared to other quick order burger places. My go-to is the Santa Barbara char because I like that sourdough bread and the avocado mash it comes with. The tempura beans with ranch are a unique side. The sides are really small portions, especially the onion rings. Their shakes are terribly sweet.

I have come to Habit 5 times in the last 3 weeks. I've been to stores in Carmichael/Fair Oaks, Sunnyvale, Fremont, and one other in Mountain View Everytime I order between 5 and 9 meat patties, and I ask for a small bowl of chopped lettuce and a little mayonnaise. I always get it with a smile, except this evening. The gentleman that took my order said I cannot have some lettuce and when I asked for mayonnaise he insulted me and said it sounds like I am ordering a burger. I am not able to eat carbs because of allergies. I eat very few of any vegetables and rarely eat mayo. The lettuce I was happy to pay for and he said he couldn't and brushed me off like I was causing trouble and trying to get free food.I mean, wow. My first job in 1976 was as a fry cook and cashier at Burger King. I never treated anyone to that kind of embarrassing exchange.About business, specifically the fast food business. People don't come there to try and get $0.30 of extra lettuce so that they can brag about it. And it takes a thousand such transactions to impact a business. But, marketing, the kind that is done through good will and a smile, over $0.30 of lettuce, well, that does wonder for repeat business. It takes on bad attitude and miscaracrerized comment to destroy the good will of a restaurant especially if that person contacts and has these kinds of interactions with many patrons. That is what ruins a restaurant, not the free lettuce but the poor treatment of a patron by accusing them of trying to "undercut" the business. Yes, he said that, as he handed my meal to me and, because he noticed me writing something on my phone, probably tried to head it off with a half filled bowl of lettuce. I appreciated it very much indeed, and when he said that, I mentioned I was willing to pay for the lettuce. He said it just seems like I am trying to build a burger. Lol. I'm a carnivore. The last thing I want is a burger. But lettuce is very safe as it has very little unsafe toxins and is mostly water. It's just a personal choice. I want to put in a plug here to say that The Habit has the best meat in my opinion. I eat meat patties everywhere at every restaurant. McDonalds are ok. In N Out is horrible tasting, Carls is good, Jack in the Box is OK. Burger King not so much, Wendy's, I just don't like that flavor. But The Habit, it tastes the best to me! I've been coming here for over 10 years, and brought my whole family every week!Kid. Listen. Business isn't always about the decimal point in the thick of it. You have to realize the value of good will in a business model that thrives on Value and Repeat business. People love to be treated special. The last thing you want to do, is tell someone that it seems they are trying to cut the business profits. Especially when they tip you anyway for 20%>. I was shocked to be honest because you haven't learned what really makes business work. It's good will. Marketing at the counter with a smile. That wins people over, and they leave nice reviews and tell other people. I didn't know this either in 1976, at 14 years old, but I learned it fast. I hope you learn it too. Thanks for the lettuce. I'll pay if you let me. But, remember, people are just there to eat, not destroy to place.Good luck in the future. I hope you learn something. I ran a business for 20 years.Dietary restrictions: I am a carnivore for health reasons. I cannot eat most foods other than meat, eggs and dairy. I can have small amounts of lettuce or fermented foods, but I like the chopped lettuce as it's mostly water and very little fiber. It's just what I have to do to prevent several illnesses that have plagued my for a dozen years, and now in remission due to this dietary change

If I could rate as a zero, I would!! Leslie, who said she was the Manager when I asked to speak to one, was the epitomy ofpoor fast food service! Unprofessional (SHE got the order wrong and made it seem like we did something wrong), snarly, poor attitude!!! My family will not be returning to Habit Burger!!!!

Patties taste frozen. They don't taste charred at all and are very dense/chewy. Fries are underwhelming. Definitely not worth the money. The selection of peppers at the condiment area is nice.

Been going to The Habit since they opened their very first one in Santa Barbara. This Sunnyvale location used to have a very professional and capable young lady as their manager. Maybe she's still there during the day, but they now have a very pugnacious short bald man as their night manager who likes to argue and belittle customers. On multiple occasions, I've seen him raising his voice and arguing with customers having issues with their orders which is such a turn-off when you're waiting for your order and seeing "the manager" acting that way. Tonight while I was waiting for my order, he started another one with a customer having an issue with his order and "the manager" yelled "I'll replace it for you" and then with his bare hand took a beef patty, slapped it on the grill and continued taunting the customer. Go to the Cupertino location. This location is so unprofessional now.

We ordered takeout through their website and it was a great experience: the burgers are very customizable, and we were able to have them bring the food to the car so we could avoid going into the restaurant during sick season. They texted when the food was ready and brought it to the car shortly after, excellent customer service. That the order was almost perfect given the customization was also impressive, they put ketchup on one of the kid's burgers, but everything else was perfect. The food is good, not amazing: the teriyaki chicken sandwich has a small pineapple ring, and a little teriyaki sauce, but the white American cheese is a nice touch, and overall it's good. Our kids were mostly thrilled with the food (char burgers and grilled cheese) and loved the gummy burger they got with their meal. Also love that milk comes with the kids meals. Their fries are good, not great, which is for the best because I ate fewer. We would definitely go here again.

If I could give 10 stars to this place I would. First off, the food. It's incredible! This far I indulge their burgers. Yes, it takes a tad longer than McD or others to get your order, yet, as they say, "Fresh is worth the wait." That's not just a cleaver slogan (just one of several), it's flat out truth! Everything is made to order and you can taste the difference. Next, the crew. Always pleasant to deal with and efficient. Then there's the place itself. For one, their restrooms are cleaner than many of the dining areas of other places, so of course, the dining area (tables, seats, floor, etc.) is kept after and kept clean as well. I never knew about The Habit until recently and I go back to the Sunnyvale location every time I'm in the SF Bay Area. Yay! Great food and reasonably priced as well. YAY!!!!
