Was going to order apps and beers for four. There were two people at the bar and three additional tables. We waited for table service which did not come for over 30 minutes then approached the bartender who informed us that she couldn’t take our order because our table was some other servers. After 45 minutes the manager took our drink order, then handed it to the same bartender who poured our drinks and let them sit for 10 minutes until we asked if they were ours. Our waitress finally checked in and I asked for one more beer and the bill telling her I know she was busy ( four tables). I got the bill and no drink then left. 90 minutes of my life I’ll never get back all for one beer. Ugh!

Sit on the deck overlooking the lake and everything tastes great! But it's very disappointing that in a very touristy area that doesn't seem to have enough waterfront dining, Jake's is closed during lunch and dinner. I understand prep time, but many other restaurants in many areas know how to do the shift change efficiently and keeps the guests rolling in.

We dined here on a Friday night around 7 pm and there were 4 of us. There was no wait time and we were able to get a table after 5-10 minutes. We ordered 2 appetizers for the table and we each ordered a main course and a drink. Our bill was over $350 and none of us were satisfied with the taste and the quality of the food...We ordered:Brussels sprouts: super saucy and not good!Pork chop: very chewy and oilyHalibut Mediterranean style: no flavorShort rib: the best one out of everything we ordered, but it was very saucyBuddha bowl: flavorless and very saucyOur server was super sweet and nice though and we really enjoyed chatting with her.Overall, I don't think the value of the food matches the quality.

We walked through the, Open Door, to have some lunch! We proceeded to the bar aera, and hear comes this little man with long hair a huge attitude!!! Instead of asking us how we're doing,he says how'd you two get in here!? We're not open for another eight minutes!!! And continues to mean mug us the entire time we we're there! My lady gets up to go outside,on the deck to take a picture, And once again Little angry man with his long hair and beard spouts off once again and says you can't go out there! The door will shut and you can't come back in! He should have said.Let me hold the door for you.So you don't get locked out while taking your picture ma'am. Little man with the big attitude. You need to go away! Customer service is key and you don't have any customer service skills my boy! We ordered our burgers medium rare. They were well done, and super dry!!! I must say the only good thing about this experience was the bartender. She was cool and made an awesome drinks and had a great attitude. I can't say that I'll ever come back to your establishment!!!

Our server was great, the food was also very good. We started with crab cakes (Best I ever had) and the coleslaw that came with it was really good. Then we each got clam chowder soup (Better than SF), and then we split dinners the lobster tails & macadamia crusted Halibut. The halibut was a little dry but flavor was good. Lobster tails were perfect.

Came here on a Friday night and secured a reservation through Yelp a few hours in advance. We were seated next to the window, which offered a beautiful view of Lake Tahoe. We started with the fried ahi poke roll, which was more like a spring roll. I thought the fish would be raw, as poke usually is, but I can understand that since the roll is fried...it would make more sense for it to be cooked. We then had the crab cakes, which were very flavorful. The accompanying sauce complemented the protein very well. For the main, we shared the cioppino, which was a generous portion. We thought the broth was on the salty side, but the seafood was cooked perfectly tender. Service was friendly and on point. Highly enjoyed the upscale resort ambiance.

The food and views at Jake's are 10/10. One of my favorite places to eat without a doubt!

Sorry, Jake's... we have been coming here for years for lunch, dinner, Thanksgiving... and the food + drinks have fallen off a cliff. Margarita with pre-made mix from Costco... ribs lathered in teriyaki sauce, again, likely from Costco (p.s. nothing against Costco). At the moment, if you are planning to go to Jake's, lower your expectations and standards. Bar tenders: please try the drinks. Owners: your name and nostalgia keeps people coming back, but the current food / drink quality is far below standard. Service was good. 1 star for service. Again... apologies... we have been there for so many years... hopefully this review spurs action and improvement. Thank you.

We had a GREAT experience at this restaurant. Our waitress was fantastic, she was knowledgeable about ingredients in food and made sure many people in our party had gluten free dinners. Every dinner, drink and dessert we ordered in our party of 8 was amazing.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free

Management is clearly crap. They advertised a huge sushi event and special menu. They only had two chefs, both not sushi chefs, for at least 100 people. Their staff was tremendous, hauling ass everywhere, super understanding. We had to leave because it took more than an hour to get an order off. Clearly understaffed, with an excellent staff. Do better management.

Love having dinner here! Drinks and dishes are equally phenomenal. Packed with fresh flavor and attention to detail. Note that happy hour is only the bar area.

The food was great . The short ribs were absolutely divine. The service was extremely slow which made sense because of the packed restaurant. The ambiance was fantastic, it really feels like you're eating a good home cooked meal. In all Jake's On The Lake was fabulous.

Had a nice dinner right in front of a nice window spot with bay views. Dinners were traditional American but well done. Had the clam linguine with sausages to give it nice flavor. My partner had a salmon dish that was also quite nice. Calamari for an app. Add a few glasses of wine making an excellent way to finish a day on the slopes
